As a youngster, I was helping my dad paint our garage. A neighbor saw what we were doing and that it was such a nice day for outside chores. He proceeded
to paint his garage. When my dad saw what the neighbor was doing, he suggested we put aside our painting to assist him, which we did.

This is but one story of how, by example, Dad taught me to put others’ needs first. I truly believe he was a major influence in my decision to serve the
church and community in various ways.
