Last Chance for In-person Sign-ups!

The hard cut-off to attend this weekend’s Survivors’ Summit, “Reclaiming the Professions for Life and Family,” is this Wednesday, noon CT. Register now for in-person attendance in Lake Charles, LA, or for a Virtual Conference Pass.

Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., said, “This will be our most important Summit to date. If you want to help reclaim the professions and gain valuable insights into the issues family activists deal with most often, this will be the place to be Friday and Saturday.”

Morse, who will give the opening address on “Confronting the Corruption of the Professions,” noted: “Once-respected professions have become megaphones for the Sexual Revolution. When it comes to issues like transgenderism, their positions are based on ideology, not science.”

The Summit will include a Friday, application-only, Ambassador’s Training Program for members of the pro-life and pro-family movements, followed by an Awards Banquet with guest speaker Rev. Walter Hoye, Founder and President of both the Issues4Life Foundation and the California Civil Rights Foundation.

The day-long Saturday conference will include:

Reclaiming the Therapeutic Professions with Fr. Paul Sullins on “Correcting the Data,” Laura Haynes of the International Federation for Therapeutic and Counseling Choice, and Susan Constantine, Uncovering Deception author and founder of the Human Behavior Lab.

Resisting the Corruption of Education with Sharon Slater, president of Family Watch International, followed by a panel on Legal Strategies for Reclaiming Education.

A Panel of Medical Professionals including Dr. Michael Parker of the Catholic Medical Association; Dr. Donna Harrison, Executive Director of the American Association of Pro-Life Ob-Gyns; and Dr. Quentin Van Meter, President of the American College of Pediatricians.

Defending the Body with Erin Brewer of Partners for Ethical Care, Fr. Sebastian Walshe of Catholic Answers, and Jackie Aguilar on“Natural Womanhood.”

Putting the Pieces Together: Equipping the Pro-life Movement to Confront Trans-Minded Clients with radio show host Jim Havens moderating, de-transitioner Walt Heyer on defending the body and helping the vulnerable, therapist Erin Brewer on the psychology of the trans-minded client, and attorney Jane Robbins on the trans suicide issue.

Surviving the Sexual Revolution with Katy Faust of Them Before Us, Rev. Walter Hoye on what the sexual revolution has done to the Black community, and Denise Shick on being the daughter of a trans father.

“I’m very proud of the team we have assembled for this year’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution,” Morse said. “The Sexual Revolutionaries count on people being isolated in their fields, but the same problems are common across many professions, including law, medicine, therapy, and education.”

Pro-Family/Pro-Life leaders and activists still have an opportunity to participate in the Summit and benefit from the wealth of expert input by registering for a Virtual Conference Pass, if not in person by signing up before this Wednesday at noon CT.

Reclaiming Therapeutic Professions a Key Topic at Ruth Inst. Summit

Reclaiming Therapeutic Professions a Key Topic at Ruth Inst. Summit

How the therapeutic professions have become a handmaiden for the Sexual Revolution will highlight the Ruth Institute 2021 Summit, “Reclaiming the Professions for Life and Family,” July 16-17 in Lake Charles, LA.

“Therapy has become politicized. Therapists have turned from science to dogma,” said Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “Is it really out of the question for a person who once identified as ‘gay’ or ‘lesbian’ to choose a different identity or way of life?"

The session on “Reclaiming the Therapeutic Professions” will feature these experts:

Dr. Laura Haynes retired from psychological clinical practice after more than 40 years. She now speaks and writes about same-sex attraction and discordant gender-sex identity change. She served on the board of the International Federation for Therapeutic and Counseling Choice and chaired a committee of the National Task Force for Therapy Equality. Dr. Haynes worked on research for the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity and was a consultant for the American College of Pediatricians. She also served as president the Christian Association for Psychological Studies, Western Region. She is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the American Psychological Association.

Susan Constantine, MPsy, has more than 17 years’ experience analyzing jurors, witnesses, and suspects. She has consulted as the human behavior expert for some of the world’s most noteworthy trials, including George Floyd, Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, and Jerry Sandusky. She has appeared in over 1,000 national and international television programs such as CNN, Fox, Dateline 20/20, Dr. Phil, Dr. Drew, Discovery Channel, Good Morning America, and The Today Show. She has published in the Washington Post, Capitol Hill, New York Times, and the New York Post. She has trained FBI and Homeland Security agents, The Department of Defense Inspector General, Federal Court Judicial Law Judges and attorneys in hundreds of private law firms on how to read facial expressions, emotions, and body language, and how to detect deception and emotional/cognitive processing. Her masterclass, “How to Spot a Liar in 7 Seconds or Less,” releases this month.

Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Associate of the Ruth Institute. He recently retired as a Professor of Sociology at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Dr. Sullins is a leader in the field of research on same-sex parenting and its implications for child development. He has written four books and over 100 journal articles, research reports, and essays on issues of family, faith, and culture. His reports on clerical sexual abuse from the Pennsylvania Grand Jury data, John Jay data, LA Times, and other sources have garnered international acclaim.

“Is it impossible to believe a person who experiences same-sex attraction might not want to act on those feelings?” Morse asked. “Yet, to the guardians of the therapeutic professions, this is the new taboo. If the Sexual Revolutionaries have their way, therapists will be legally forbidden to assist clients who want to change. At the Summit, we will discuss the growing body of evidence that people can change their patterns of attractions and behaviors.”

Attendance at the “Reclaiming the Professions for Life and Family” Summit can be in person or on-line with a Virtual Conference Pass.

Reclaim the Health and Education of Youth at the Ruth Inst. Summit

The Ruth Institute’s Fourth Annual Survivors’ Summit theme is “Reclaiming the Professions for Life and Family.” The Summit, July 16-17 in Lake Charles, LA, will provide training to counter the corruption of professions involved with the health and education of youth.

Ruth Institute president Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., explained: “Once-respected professions have become megaphones for the Sexual Revolution. When it comes to issues like transgenderism, their positions are based on ideology, not science.” Morse will give the opening address on “Confronting the Corruption of the Professions.”

The day-long conference will include:

Reclaiming the Therapeutic Professions with Fr. Paul Sullins on “Correcting the Data,” and Laura Haynes of the International Federation for Therapeutic and Counseling Choice.

Resisting the Corruption of Education by Sharon Slater of Family Watch International, followed by a panel on Legal Strategies for Reclaiming Education.

A Panel of Medical Professionals including Dr. Michael Parker of Catholic Medical Association and Dr. Donna Harrison, Executive Director of the American Association of Pro-Life Ob-Gyns.

Defending the Body with Erin Brewer of Partners for Ethical Care and Fr. Sebastian Walshe of Catholic Answers.

Equipping the Pro-Life Movement to Confront Trans-minded Clients, with a therapist on trans-psychology and an attorney on the trans suicide issue.

Surviving the Sexual Revolution, a panel including Maritza Cummings, a “desister,” who transitioned from female to male, and then transitioned back.

The Summit will also include a day-long, application-only Ambassador’s Training Program for members of the pro-life and pro-family movements, and an Awards Banquet with guest speaker Rev. Walter Hoye, Founder and President of both the Issues4Life Foundation and the California Civil Rights Foundation.

“I’m very proud of the team we have assembled for this year’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution,” Morse said. “The Sexual Revolutionaries count on people being isolated in their own fields, but the problems are common across many professions. Doctors, therapists, educators and attorneys who are distraught over the direction their professions are headed, should plan to be in Lake Charles, Louisiana, July 16-17. You will see that you are not alone in your beliefs.”

Ruth Inst. Promotes Reality, Opens Transgender Resource Center

Ruth Inst. Promotes Reality, Opens Transgender Resource Center

“Our Transgender Resource Center is an invaluable tool for those opposed to the transgender ideology,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

“Transgenderism is a fraud. An individual can no more change his sex than his species. It’s imprinted in his DNA. A man born a man, and a woman born a woman, will remain such until the end of his or her life. Neither surgery nor hormone therapy will change that,” Morse said.

The opening of the Transgender Resource Center comes on the eve of the “Transgender Day of Visibility,” March 31.

“I’m not sure ‘Resource Center’ adequately describes what’s available here,” Morse said. “There are stories such as Maritza’s, who lived as a female to male transsexual for 17 years before detransitioning, as well as links to outspoken detransitioner, Walt Heyer, author of Trans Life Survivors.

“There are important interviews with doctors on the front lines, such as Dr. Michelle Cretella, who has analyzed gender dysphoria in depth, and Dr. Andre Von Mol, who successfully challenged the claim that surgery improved the mental health of gender dysphoric patients.

Dr. Erin Brewer tells her story of being sexually assaulted as a child, deciding that being a boy would keep her safe, and ultimately being protected from a lifetime of transgenderism by a sensitive therapist.

“We have resources for teachers and school administrators, such as the School Resource Guide from the Child and Parental Rights Campaign, and resources for parents, such as the Parent Resource Guide from the Minnesota Family Council.”

Morse added: “They’ll say we’re hateful for sharing these stories and providing these resources. But the transgender movement is doing irreparable harm, especially to impressionable adolescents, and that’s the ultimate form of hate. The truth may be unpleasant – even painful – but it’s never hateful. Denying reality is what causes the greatest harm in the long run.

“The significance of the transgender movement goes far beyond one piece of legislation, one nomination, or one day designated to celebrate transgenderism. It’s a movement that seeks to upend reality. That’s why the Ruth Institute’s Transgender Resource Center is so timely and so crucial for those fighting gender dystopia.”

Ruth Inst: Big Tech at it Again, Amazon Bans Book on Health Hazards of Homosexuality

Ruth Inst: Big Tech at it Again, Amazon Bans Book on Health Hazards of Homosexuality

Incredibly, Amazon just banned a book on the dangers of homosexual sex that it has been carrying for the past 3 ½ years – a book published by Amazon Kindle Direct. Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., called the development “a flagrant example of high-tech censorship.”

The 600-page volume, The Health Hazards of Homosexuality: What the Medical and Psychological Research Reveals, was compiled by Mass Resistance. The book is meticulously researched and includes 1,800 end notes with current links.

Amazon Kindle Direct has stopped printing it. “Unless another publisher and distributor can be found, The Health Hazards of Homosexuality will no longer be available to the public, which is exactly what the LGBTQ lobby wants,” Morse said. “Its goal has always been to suppress science on the very substantial risks involved in the homosexual lifestyle.”

In response to queries, Amazon says The Health Hazards of Homosexuality contains “content that is considered offensive.”

“Offensive to whom?” Morse asked. “How can medical science be offensive? Aren’t so-called progressives always telling us that they believe in ‘science,’ but, apparently, only when it’s convenient to do so.”

Among the titles Amazon carries that it does not consider offensive are:

The Joy of Gay Sex

Tie Me Up (about sadomasochism and bondage)

Punish me! and

Fist Me! Guide to Anal Fisting

“You can see this bias right across the board,” Morse said. “Twitter, Facebook and Google also ban conservative thought whenever there’s an opportunity. More – much more -- must be done to hold institutions like Amazon accountable.”

The Ruth Institute urges concerned citizens to contact U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Anti-Trust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights, to demand legislation to address this neo-book burning.

Among the participants on the Surviving the LGBT Subculture panel is Doug Mainwaring, a journalist, and Luis Ruiz, who survived the Pulse Nightclub shootings. Both left the LGBT subculture.

Survivors Summit Covers Abuse, Addictions and Attitudes that Threaten our Civilization

June 23, 2020

For Immediate Release

For More Information: media@ruthinstitute.org

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s disastrous Bostock decision, the Ruth Institute’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution takes on extreme urgency. The Summit, to be held July 17-18, in Lake Charles, LA, will analyze the many ways the Sexual Revolution needs the power of the State to do its destructive work.

Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., stated, “The Bostock ruling redefines “female” and “male” for purposes of law. The Obergefell decision redefined marriage. The Federalist Society vetted Gorsuch, appointed by Pres. Trump, who wrote the majority opinion. This terrible ruling shows that the conservative legal establishment has no idea how to address sexual and social issues. The Sexual Revolution attacks both the individual and the family. At our Summit, we’ll take a hard look at some of the most destructive pathologies the Global Ruling Class has inflicted on ordinary people.”

Expert presentations will include:

  • Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse – The future of health and the family depends on ending it. No one will do this but people of faith! Presented by Dr. Morse and Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D.
  • Surviving Pornography, as a nation, as a family, as an individual: Pornography as a Public Health Crisis, Melea Stephens (of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation) and Protecting Young Eyes: Tools for Parents and Other Educators, presented by Chris McKenna (of Covenant Eyes).
  • Surviving the LGBT Sub-Culture: Medical Issues – presented by Dr. Michelle Cretella, MD, of the American College of Pediatricians.
  • Reporting from the front lines of the Transgender Movement – stories from parents of gender-confused children, “desisters” (individuals who lived as the opposite sex and stopped), resistance within the medical profession and surprising new allies, presented by journalist Brandon Showalter.

The program will also include testimony from Survivors of the Sexual Revolution, as well as activists’ panels, question and answer sessions and general discussions.

Among the participants on the Surviving the LGBT subculture panel are journalist Doug Mainwaring and Pulse Nightclub shooting survivor, Luis Ruiz. Both left the LGBT subculture.

Morse observed: “After the Bostock ruling, social conservatives of all faiths have realized beyond any shadow of a doubt: we are on our own. Participants at our Summit will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of redefining the direction of the social conservative movement. The encounter with experts and their analysis, the first-hand testimony of Survivors, and the experience of effective activists, will inspire participants. They will come away with new friends as well as practical tips on how to get involved and make a difference.”

Ruth Inst. Third Annual Awards Dinner and Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution – July 17-18, 2020

June 2, 2020

For Immediate Release

For more information, contact media@ruthinstitute.org.

The Ruth Institute will hold its Third Annual Awards Dinner and Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution on July 18, in Lake Charles, LA. Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., said, “This Dinner and Summit will take those who’ve suffered from the Sexual Revolution from victimhood to healing, empowerment and activism.”

The event will be held live, in accordance with the gradual reopening guidelines for the state of Louisiana. Morse said, “We are not cowering in fear, wondering whether we will have a future. We will comply with all public health guidelines in place at the time. But we want the public to know that we at the Ruth Institute are filled with hope for the future. We will act as if we have a future.”

The Awards Dinner Friday evening kicks off the festivities. The Institute will give awards for activism and public witness, including a keynote address on How the Sexual Revolution Hijacked the Women’s Movement. The Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution on Saturday includes these sessions:

Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse – Statistical analysis and strategies for healing, including testimony from survivors of childhood sexual abuse, including clergy sexual abuse.

Surviving Pornography Addiction – Understanding pornography as a public health crisis, and offering strategies for protecting children.

Surviving the LGBT Sub-Culture – Including health and psychological risks commonly associated with same-sex sexual activity and gender dysphoria.

Morse added: “Last year’s Survivors Summit was an overwhelming success. This year, we’ll be hearing expert input and testimony from survivors on a new range of issues associated with the Sexual Revolution.”

“The Ruth Institute is the only organization fighting for the family and exposing the interconnectedness of such diverse issues as divorce, pornography, sexual abuse, gender dystopia, the LGBT movement and the sub-cultures it’s spawned.”

Morse concluded, “Our Third Annual Awards Dinner and Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution will be about healing, hope and unity.”

Ruth Institute Calls for Moratorium on “Sex-Change” Operations and Clarification on “Conversion Therapy”

April 2, 2020

For Immediate Release

For more information, contact media@ruthinstitute.org.

Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., founder and president of the Ruth Institute, called on the nation’s governors to halt “gender reassignment surgery” during the coronavirus crisis.

Morse explained: “The government has called for a moratorium on non-essential procedures in order to conserve medical resources. Sex-change operations clearly fall within this category. No one will be harmed by a delay here. And it will give those considering such surgeries more time to contemplate what could be a life-altering event that they’ll later regret.”

The Ruth Institute took a similar position on abortion clinics during the coronavirus crisis, calling for a halt in elective abortions as non-essential medical procedures.

Trans activists have warned that some gender-confused will commit suicide if their operation is delayed. Morse called this argument a red herring. “A study shows that those who have undergone a ‘sex-change’ operation are nearly 20 times more likely to commit suicide than the general population.” (See below for link.)

Morse said a moratorium would help us come to terms with the nature of gender-reassignment surgery. “After the operation, patients will have the same sex they had before. These procedures change physical appearance, not DNA. Those who were born male or female will remain so till the end of their days, regardless of what they do to their bodies.”

“The answer to gender confusion is compassionate counseling, not facilitating a fraud,” Morse said. She also called on governors to lift bans on such therapy, where they exist. “Bans on conversion therapy are often so broad that therapists fear taking on gender-confused clients. Lifting such bans would enable those seeking help to receive it without therapists fearing legal consequences.”
