Ruth Inst. Coalitions Director to Speak at Kenya Life Symposium

Ruth Institute Coalitions Director Don Feder will speak at a Virtual Life Symposium sponsored by the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) on March 23, 9:00 am to noon, East Africa Time (ET plus 7 hours). Feder will speak on “The View from Sinai: A Jewish Perspective on Abortion.”

“Abortion and everything that goes with it is a repudiation of Judeo-Christian ethics, which started at Sinai,” Feder said. “It’s a reversion to bloody
pagan times with human sacrifices, slavery and the ethic of might makes right.”

The virtual symposium is part of KCPF’s Life Week. The theme is “Man where are you?” (Genesis 3:9) Other activities include Life Sunday, March 21, on which
church leaders, priests and pastors are encouraged to give sermons focusing on the protection of human life.

Patience Mutie Muthenya, KCPF Programs Manager explains: “For a long time, pregnancy and childbirth have been considered a woman’s affair. In the same
note, abortion rights have been touted as women’s rights. The man’s role has been relegated to that of observer. This year, we are calling upon men
to rise up and take their place – to rise up and protect women from rape, from abortions, and from the loss of lives due to hemorrhage during childbirth,
through blood donations.”

Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. said, “We are proud to be partnering with the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum, which is
doing such vital work to protect life and the family in Eastern Africa. We’re always happy to support the prolife movement in Kenya.”

Other speakers at the Virtual Life Symposium will include Richard Kakeeto (Catholic University of Eastern Africa), Dr. Wahome Ngare (Kenya Catholic Doctors
Assn.), Dr. Jean Kagia (Protecting Life Movement Trust) and Aketch Aimba (Pearls and Treasures, a pregnancy resource center). Dr. Nagare was a guest
on the Dr. J Show on December 18 to
discuss the abortion issue in Africa.

Besides his work with the Ruth Institute, Feder was a syndicated columnist for 19 years. He also helped organize pro-family conferences and other events
in the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. In Africa, he’s spoken in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Malawi.

Advance registration for the Kenya Virtual Life Forum is required.
