Ruth Inst. Decries OnlyFans’ Decision to Continue Exploiting Women and Children

“OnlyFans has decided that its pornography profits matter more than the dignity of women and children,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

Last week, OnlyFans reversed a decision, made just five days earlier, to ban sexually explicit material from its site, starting October 1.

Morse explained: “The initial decision wasn’t due to an attack of conscience, since the owners of OnlyFans have none, but by the fact that the federal government is breathing down their necks.”

More than 100 members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans, signed an August 10th letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, demanding that the Justice Department investigate the platform, dubbed the ‘paywall of porn’ for facilitating the sexual exploitation of children.

Pornographers associated with the site are paid a per-view or monthly fee to access the material they’ve posted. Earlier this year, police in Dade Co. Florida arrested a couple for human trafficking and promoting a sexual performance by a child, after the friend of an underage girl saw explicit videos of her posted on OnlyFans.

“OnlyFans has grown fat on the suffering of children,” Morse said. “They hide behind euphemisms like ‘artistic expression’ and ‘inclusiveness,’ and cry ‘censorship.’ That’s absurd. The sexual exploitation of children is not only illegal, it violates every standard of decent human behavior.

“We’re told that the site, which claims to have 100 million viewers and generate $3 billion in revenue annually, reversed course after an outcry from so-called sex workers, who use the site to sell their product. They said it was unfair to target their work. Tough. There’s no place for pornography on the Internet. If it facilitates the exploitation of children, that makes it so much worse.”

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said that in 2019, it was aware of 10 cases involving missing children associated with OnlyFans. So far this year, the number of such cases jumped to 80.

Morse urged the Justice Department to “immediately launch a thorough investigation of the site and, if the evidence bears it out, to prosecute OnlyFans to the full extent of the law.”

Demographic Winter Resource Center Highlights Crisis of Falling Fertility

Demographic Winter Resource Center Highlights Crisis of Falling Fertility

The Ruth Institute just launched a Demographic Winter Resource Center because “declining fertility is one of the most pressing issues of this century,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

“Fertility has dropped dramatically in the past 70 years. In 1950, worldwide, the average woman had 4.7 children. By 2017, that figure was cut almost in half to 2.4. A fertility rate of 2.1 is needed just to replace current population. Already, half of all countries have below-replacement fertility.

Global population decline could begin as early as 2064,” Morse continued.Even before that happens, we’ll need to deal with the effects of a rapidly aging population as the proportion of elderly will continue to rise in every Western country.”

The Resource Center includes a Demographic Winter Fact Sheet, a graphic depiction of what’s at stake in a world with fewer and fewer children, what you can do about it, and the documentary, “Demographic Winter: Decline of the Human Family.”

Morse remarked: “Fertility decline is connected to almost every issue family advocates care about: worldwide abortion and contraception, cohabitation being favored over marriage, and a drop in religious participation. All these aspects feed into a global Demographic Winter. Education is desperately needed to raise awareness of the crisis, how it came about, and what we can do to reverse it.”

This newest Resource Center compliments those on Marriage, Censorship, Transgenderism, Motherhood, and Fatherhood. “Our Resource Centers are a one-stop shop for information on issues concerning the family,” Morse said.

Cuomo Took Full Advantage of the Sexual Revolution’s Lies

Cuomo Took Full Advantage of the Sexual Revolution’s Lies

After a decade in power, tomorrow will be New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s last day in office. Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. commented: “If nothing else, Cuomo was consistent. He loved the idea of a world without sexual restraints, an attitude reflected in both his public and private life.”

Eleven women charged that Cuomo (who said he was just being friendly) either harassed or sexually assaulted them. New York’s Attorney General, a fellow Democrat, did an exhaustive investigation which confirmed those charges. After the report, two more women came forward to level similar charges.

“It’s hard to imagine an issue on which Gov. Cuomo didn’t work hard to advance the agenda of the Sexual Revolution,” Morse said. “In 2011, he made New York the first large state to legalize homosexual ‘marriage.’ More recently, he signed the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act, adding ‘gender identity or expression’ to classes protected under New York Civil Rights law.”

Morse also noted that in January 2019, Cuomo signed a law codifying the ‘right’ to third trimester abortion and allowing those without a medical license to perform abortions, as well as erasing New York’s recognition of unborn children as potential homicide victims.

“The Sexual Revolution is all about sex without conditions, consequences, or a moral dimension,” Morse explained. “It’s a world without boundaries or limits. This is the way Cuomo behaved publicly in his political advocacy, and how he behaved privately in his execrable behavior toward women.

“One of the great lies of the Sexual Revolution is that it liberates women. Instead, it grooms them for predators like Cuomo and gives the predators a hunting license. There’s no excuse for the governor’s conduct, nor for the agenda of the Sexual Revolution, which he assiduously promoted.”

Ruling: Doctors Can’t Be Forced to Do “Transgender” Surgeries

A U.S. District Court judge issued a permanent injunction to prevent the Biden Administration from forcing doctors and hospitals to perform “transgender” operations.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. responded: “We applaud the decision by Judge Reed O’Connor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The Biden Administration's attempt to coerce doctors and hospitals into performing so-called transgender surgeries was a naked power grab on behalf of their political allies in the trans-lobby.

“The Biden Administration, like the Obama Administration before it, will not permit dissent from the trans agenda. This so-called ‘transgender mandate’ was an attempt to block the exits for any medical professional with the courage to resist performing these controversial, experimental, and potentially dangerous surgeries.”

The mandate was first issued by the Obama administration’s HHS (based on an interpretation of the Affordable Care Act), repealed under Trump, and reinstated under Biden. It forced doctors and Catholic hospitals to perform these procedures against their better judgement and the dictates of their conscience. Judge O’Connor’s ruling upholds the right of conscience protected by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Morse concurred: “No doctor should be forced to perform any medical intervention against his better medical or ethical judgement. O'Connor's decision derailed this inhuman policy, at least temporarily. Thank goodness for that.”

O’Connor initially blocked the mandate in 2016, a decision he reaffirmed in 2019. Under Biden, the decision was appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, which sent it back to O’Connor in April. Even if the latest ruling is confirmed, it will only cover areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas in the Fifth Circuit.

“In other words,” said Morse, “the matter is still moving through the federal court system and could eventually reach the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Dr. Quentin Van Meter, President of the American College of Pediatricians, called the ruling “a breath of fresh air that is welcomed by all physicians who wish to practice Hippocratic medicine.”

Erin Brewer of Partners for Ethical Care said her organization is grateful for Judge O’Connor’s decision. “Though no doctor should be engaging in attempting to change the sex of children's bodies, it is imperative that doctors are not coerced into medically abusing vulnerable children with these misguided interventions.”

Jeffrey Barrows, DO, MA, (Ethics), Senior VP Bioethics and Public Policy, Christian Medical & Dental Associations remarked that his organization is “thankful for this victory because it allows our members to practice medicine conscientiously according to good medical evidence.”

Both Van Meter and Brewer spoke at the Ruth Institute’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution, “Reclaiming the Professions for Life and Family,” last month in Louisiana.

Texas Calls “Trans Surgery” for Kids Child Abuse

Texas Calls “Trans Surgery” for Kids Child Abuse

In a letter to the state’s governor, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services stated, “Mutilation of a child’s genitalia through reassignment surgery is child abuse, subject to all of the rules and procedures pertaining to child abuse.”

“I applaud Texas for this decision,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “Texas joins a growing list of entities that are taking a dim view of these so-called medical treatments.”

Government agencies and hospital boards in the UK, Sweden, and Finland, have taken steps to limit these destructive practices, including puberty blockers.

“It's about time,” said Morse. “Surgery and hormone regimes to change the sex of the body are experimental and, in many cases, irreversible. Informed consent by minors is logically impossible under the circumstances. Children deserve protection from adults who would harm them in the service of the irrational transgender ideology.”

The Texas Department’s directive was issued in response to an inquiry from Governor Gregg Abbott. It assured him, “Allegations involving genital mutilation of a child will be promptly and thoroughly investigated.” Further, failure of professionals, “who have cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse, is a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $4,000, or both.”

Morse added: “The Department has its terminology right. These procedures constitute ‘mutilation,’ hence child abuse. Sex can’t be surgically ‘reassigned.’ The sex of a child is determined at birth. Through hormone treatment and surgery, he can be made to take on the physical characteristics of the opposite sex, but he will not, and cannot, become that sex. States like Texas are definitely moving in the right direction.”

Ruth Inst. Commends Star Wars Shop Owner for Standing up to Trans-Bully

“It’s good to see ordinary people standing up to the transgender ideology,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., commenting on a recent incident in which a man who says he’s a woman staged a confrontation with the owner of a Star Wars store over a store sign. Security video captured the exchange, which has gone viral.

Aberdeen, Washington City Councilor Tiesa Meskis descended on the store, telling owner Don Sucher he was offended by a sign that reads, “If you were born with a d-ck, you are not a chick.”A verbal slugfest ensued, which Sucher, a Vietnam veteran, won handily. Towering over the 78-year-old Sucher, Meskis called the sign “bullsh-t” and insisted, “Trans women are women, sir!” Sucher told Meskis that he fought for free speech in Vietnam and that “9 out of 10 of my customers love the sign.”

Morse commented, “One of these men displayed toxic masculinity at its worst, harassing an old man much smaller than himself. The other man behaved like a good father, standing his ground in defense of the truth, refusing to surrender to a bully. If you watch the video, you’ll see what I mean.”

Morse continued, “A man in a dress berating a septuagenarian shop owner he towers over is not a good visual for the proponents of the Trans Ideology. Meskis, formerly known as Nathan Kennedy, was trying to intimidate Sucher. When Sucher didn’t back down, Meskis kept repeating his inane message. Sucher was not having any part of it. Good for him.

“The so-called transgender movement relies on fear and intimidation. When someone stands up to them, they back off.” Trans-supporters put out a nationwide call for a protest. But Sucher’s supporters outnumbered his detractors.

At 1:25 minute mark in the video, Sucher tells Meskis, “You are not a woman. You don’t look like a woman. You don’t act like a woman.” Morse commented, “Mr. Sucher is right on. I have been a woman my entire life. Mr. Kennedy, who calls himself a woman named Tiesa Meskis, is not even remotely plausible as a woman. I really wish the press, at least the conservative press, would stop referring to him as ‘she.’”

Muppets Used to Indoctrinate Children in the Transgender Ideology, Ruth Inst. Charges

“Disney Junior is using popular characters to sell the transgender ideology to children,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

In a recent episode of Disney Junior’s “Muppet Babies,” Gonzo, one of the principal male characters, announces that he wants to go to the ball as a “princess” in a dress. The other characters tell him he can’t be a princess but must go as a knight.

Gonzo’s “Fairy Rat-Father” then appears, and, with a wave of his magic wand, transforms Gonzo into Princess Gonzo-rella, attired in a ball gown and glass slippers. In the end, the formerly “transphobic” characters admit the error of their ways and tell Gonzo that from now on, everyone can decide if they want to be a princess or a knight.

“There’s nothing cute or clever about this,” Morse declared. “We know that transgender activists have targeted kids with tools like Drag Queen Story Hour. They have argued that six-year-old boys who announce they’re girls should be treated as girls, including having access to girls’ restrooms.

“Disney is trying to get children to buy into this gender dystopia. For children, cartoons can be an effective teaching tool, or source of indoctrination. I wonder how many parents, who assume that if it’s Disney, it must be wholesome, know what’s going on here?” Morse asked.

“Disney may be a powerful transmitter of ideas, but it can’t alter reality. It can’t change DNA. Even a fairy with a magic wand can’t do that,” Morse said.

Cuomo Case Reflects Toxic Culture Created by the Sexual Revolution, Says Ruth Inst.

Cuomo Case Reflects Toxic Culture Created by the Sexual Revolution, Says Ruth Inst.

“New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is accused of creating a ‘toxic workplace.’ But actually, the Sexual Revolution created the ‘toxic workplace.’ The Sexual Revolution, in effect, issued hunting licenses to predators,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “This poisonous ideology created a sense of entitlement among powerful men. They have internalized the Revolutionary message that they are entitled to have sex as often as they choose, with whomever they choose.”

The New York Attorney General’s office issued a 165-page report last week charging that the governor “engaged in conduct constituting sexual harassment.” The report also concluded that the governor’s office “contributed to the conditions that allowed sexual harassment to occur and persist.”

“In other words,” Morse said, “the harassment was systematic. The governor’s office enabled his misconduct.”

Morse continued, “The Sexual Revolution has given us a generation of addicts. How else can you describe Cuomo’s behavior? ‘Compulsive’ seems too mild a term. Any attractive woman who came within his reach was fair game.

“But it was the Sexual Revolution that led to a climate where so many powerful men are caught up in scandal,” Morse remarked. “This toxic ideology led to a culture where powerful men can’t keep their hands to themselves.”

Numerous politicians and entertainers have been credibly charged with harassment or even assault. President Bill Clinton was impeached for an affair with an intern who was decades his junior. Former U.S. Senator Al Franken was forced to resign from Congress. Harvey Weinstein fell from the pinnacle of Hollywood’s powerful elite to convicted sex offender.

Morse continued, “Pornography also plays a role in this problem of widespread sexual harassment and assault. The Sexual Revolution gave us the pornography-saturated culture in which we live today. A regular porn theme is that any woman is ready to have sex at any time with men she barely knows.

“The Andrew Cuomo scandal will probably end with the governor’s resignation or impeachment, and possibly his arrest on criminal charges,” Morse said. “Before he disappears into the dustbin of history, we must confront the Sexual Revolution. The idea that sex is an entitlement will continue to create predators like Andrew Cuomo, regardless of what happens to the New York governor.”

Perverse Inequality Between Rules for the HIV+ and Vaccine Negative

Perverse Inequality Between Rules for the HIV+ and Vaccine Negative

“The public health establishment is evidently run by sex addicts for sex addicts,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., President of the Ruth Institute. “In a truly perverse move, Illinois decriminalized knowingly putting others at risk of contracting HIV. Meanwhile, New York City will soon mandate COVID vaccination to enter certain public places.”

In repealing a law criminalizing a knowingly HIV-positive person from engaging in high-risk activities, like unprotected sex, donating blood, and sharing needles, Gov. JB Pritzker said the measure will make Illinois a “safer, more inclusive state,” and will advance residents’ “ability to live their lives to the fullest,” as well as remove the “stigma” from the condition.

At the same time, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that beginning September 13, New Yorkers must prove COVID vaccination to participate in indoor activities, like dining in and attending performances. Several states, including New York and California have mandated vaccination for state employees.

Morse responded: "Great. The public health establishment transfers medical stigmatization from HIV+ citizens to unvaccinated but completely healthy citizens.”

Life Site News noted in a story about Pritzker’s move, “HIV continues to be a debilitating, life-threatening illness, with nearly 40,000 diagnoses in the U.S. in 2018.” The lifespan of HIV positive people is nine years shorter on average than their virus-free peers.

Morse explained, “In Illinois, you can knowingly spread this deadly STD without being penalized, while in New York you can be kept out of restaurants and denied employment for refusing to get vaccinated.

“This shows, once again, that advocates of the Sexual Revolution allow nothing to stand in the way of high-risk activity, as long as it’s sexual activity. Shopping, eating, and going to the movies, not so much.”

In a 2020 interview with Vanity Fair, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he saw nothing wrong with meeting potential partners through an app like Tinder or Grindr. “If you’re looking for a friend, sit in a room and put a mask on, and you know, chat a bit. If you want to go a bit more intimate, well, then that’s your choice regarding a risk,” the chief COVID advisor recommended.

“Last year, Fauci was telling us that engaging in intimate activities with someone you just met on a hook-up app was ‘your choice regarding the risk,’” Morse said. “But now De Blasio is telling New Yorkers that for the un-vaccinated to enter a restaurant poses too great a risk. The public health establishment is either intellectually bankrupt or morally incoherent, or both.”

Gay Propagandists Attack Journalists Over Grindr Priest

“Critics of The Pillar, a Catholic investigative website, are using deflective propaganda,” said Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

Two investigative reporters for The Pillar found evidence that Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill, General Secretary of the U.S. Catholic Bishops Conference before his recent resignation, was using the gay hook-up app Grindr almost daily.

Bishop William Callahan, Burrill’s bishop, came to his defense, arguing, “The media reports establish no facts in truth about Jeff’s behavior.”

Morse responded, “Such sophistry is unworthy of a bishop of the Catholic Church. While admittedly we don’t know exactly what Burrill was doing, the circumstantial evidence is persuasive. What was he doing with the men he met on an anonymous gay sex app, discussing interior decorating or their favorite show tunes?” Morse asked. “It is perfectly reasonable to assume that he was engaging in what the Catechism describes as ‘acts of grave depravity,’ which can ‘under no circumstances … be approved.’”

Msgr. Burrill resigned in advance of the publication of The Pillar’s story. No one, including Burrill, has denied that he was using the app for gay sex.

“Having sex with strangers on what The Pillar describes as ‘a near daily basis,’ is not a ‘normal variation of healthy human sexuality,’” Morse charged. “The man is almost certainly a sex addict. He is evidently not in command of himself.”

In her July 30 National Catholic Register article,Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill’s Resignation: Reflections on Deflections,” Morse responded to Jesuit Fr. James Martin’s charge that The Pillar was on a gay priest witch hunt. “This charge is a masterful instance of deflective propaganda. Since there really are no such thing as witches (all enlightened people agree on that), anyone who ‘hunts’ for witches is searching for a mythical creature. The phrase suggests, without explicitly saying so, that raising questions about the conduct of homosexual men in the clergy is unjustified and irrational. Witch hunters can be safely dismissed as deranged, unhinged and certainly more dangerous than the ‘witches’ they are hunting.

“Unfortunately for the Grand Gay Narrative, there actually are homosexual men in the clergy. Some of them are compulsive and narcissistic. Some are predatory. Each causes problems for the Church. But the label ‘witch hunt’ deflects attention away from these problems and offenses and focuses attention instead on the people who try to stop them.”

In the case of Msgr. Burrill, claiming he’s the victim of a witch hunt distracts from the significance of the charges against him.
