This blog is maintained by the Ruth Institute. It provides a place for our Circle of Experts to express themselves. This is where the scholars, experts, students and followers of the Ruth Institute engage in constructive dialogue about the issues surrounding the Sexual Revolution. We discuss public policy, social practices, legal doctrines and much more.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., responded to the news that Chick-fil-A’s foundation will no longer give to Christian groups which oppose same-sex marriage. “Once the third largest restaurant of its kind stood for something fine and noble,” Morse said. “Now they’ve shown that their principles are negotiable, which means they have none.”
Morse observed, “The company’s charitable foundation just announced that they will no longer donate to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes because of their refusal to worship at the altar of the Sexual Revolution.”
In a letter to the corporation, Steve Hicks, a member of The Ruth Institute’s board of directors, wrote, “Yesterday’s news that Chick-fil-A folded to political pressure from the LGBT elitists was so sad. Now you will go the way of the Boy Scouts and become irrelevant.”
Hicks continued: “You might have a few precious hours left to fire your executives and recover some trust with your base, but it may be too late. You just nuked your founder's core values and dream. How am I supposed to eat another sandwich without being sick to my stomach? It would violate my core values of principled leadership and American entrepreneurial independence.”
Morse added, “Sexual revolutionaries are relentless in crushing dissent. No deviation will be permitted, however principled. How long will it be before Chick-fil-A is delivering sandwiches to gay pride parades?”
Morse concluded: “We can only sadly quote the words of Winston Churchill to Neville Chamberlain after Munich. 'You were given the choice between war
and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war.' Chick-fil-A has just returned from its personal Munich singing the siren song

You-tube: “Criticizing Transgender Surgery = Hate”
Ruth Institute: “Banning Speech = Cowardice”
Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. condemned YouTube’s decision to ban a Daily Signal/Heritage Foundation video with Dr. Michelle Cretella, M.D. over her comment on transgenderism.
“The Sexual Revolutionaries running YouTube are cowards. They cannot refute Dr. Cretella and the Heritage Foundation. They ban their opponents instead of confronting them. Big Tech is making Big Brother seem benign,” Morse said.
YouTube claims an observation by the eminent pediatrician, and executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, violates its hate speech code. In the 2017 interview, Cretella said: “If you want to cut off a leg or an arm, you’re mentally ill, but if you want to cut off healthy breasts or a penis, you’re transgender.”
“Dr. Cretella’s remarks did not promote violence toward or hatred of anyone,” Morse declared. “Instead, it’s the type of mutilation which Cretella spoke out against that’s an act of violence.”
Morse continued: “YouTube has decided that a perfectly reasonable remark by a medical professional is hate speech. It uses this to justify banning inconvenient expression.”
Dr. Cretella also appeared in the October 4 edition of The Dr J Show, the Ruth Institute’s new video podcast. Drs. Morse and Cretella discussed a variety
of concerns, including the medical consequences of so-called gender-transitioning. The Ruth Institute is urging its supporters to promote this interview
as a way to counter the censorship against our friends at the Heritage Foundation.
In another case the Ruth Institute has been involved with, divorced parents were in a bitter custody dispute. The wife wanted to transition her 7-year-old
son to a transgendered “female.” The husband fought it. After a public outcry, the judge granted joint custody. But she also issued a gag order preventing
the parties from discussing the case publicly. Said Morse “This is another outrageous example of censorship involving transgenderism.”
Despite YouTube’s attempts to silence dissent, the Heritage Foundation has made the public aware of the injustice through its direct email communications with supporters. The Ruth Institute urges the public to subscribe to its lists, so we can inform them if we’ve been de-platformed on social media.
“We intend to keep fighting to get the truth out, regardless of what Big Tech thinks or does,” Dr. Morse said.
The Ruth Institute is a global interfaith non-profit organization equipping Christians to defend the family and build a civilization of love.
Dr. Morse is the author of The Sexual State: How Elite Ideologies Are Destroying Lives.

Vanco was the Ruth Institute's payment processor for donations from 2015 until August 31, 2017. We have recorded many of the news stories as well as our press releases in this space. We want to let our friends know that we received additional correspondence from them. We record it here in its entirety, without comment. You may draw your own conclusions.
On Tuesday, September 26, the CFO of Vanco called and left a message for the Ruth Institute. I returned her call. She informed me that they would be willing to reinstate us. I was polite, and asked her for the details of what she proposed. This is what she sent me, the following day:
Wednesday, September 27:
Jennifer, thank you for the conversation yesterday. As discussed on our call, Vanco has completed our re-underwriting process with our Banking partner
and secured the ability to reinstate The Ruth Institute as a client. If you would like to reinstate your account, please contact me at the email
Also, if desired, we can restart your recurring transactions.
Your previous pricing for our services was a historical pricing plan that provided the following rates:
Our current published rates may be more advantageous for you depending on your forecasted mix between card and ACH and number of transactions. We are willing to reinstate you at your historical rate or you may choose from our current published plans. I’m happy to discuss if you have any questions.
Further, since you will be reinstated as a new customer, we would like to offer you our current promotions that we are currently offering to new customers. They are as follows:
Jennifer Dorris, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
400 Northridge Road |Suite 1200
Atlanta, Georgia 30350
On Friday, September 29, I sent her the following
Dear Ms. Dorris,
I received your email of September 27, 2017, in response to our telephone call of the previous day. As you know, your company discontinued your service with us without notice on August 31, 2017. For us to consider returning to Vanco, we would require, at a minimum, the following:
Ms. Dorris, we have many small monthly donors. As you well know, these are the people who pay the fees Vanco collects. We don’t pay: our donors pay. These dear people who give us $10 or $25 per month were most upset with Vanco when we had to call them and tell them about this situation. They deserve an explanation and apology. Reinstating service with Vanco without both an explanation and apology from you would be breaking faith with our friends and supporters. We simply cannot do this.
I am sure you can understand that switching credit card processing is no small matter. We finally have our new systems up and running. All things considered, it would take an extraordinary effort on your part to get us back. Your correspondence thus far, does not rise to that level.
Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse,
Founder and President,
The Ruth InstituteOn Monday October 2, we received the following:
As discussed on the phone and via email, Vanco has secured the ability to reinstate The Ruth Institute as a client. Based on your feedback, we understand you are working with another payment processor. Please know that if for some reason that does not work out, we would welcome the opportunity to have you back as a client.
Best, Jennifer Dorris
These documents speak for themselves. I will say no more. Thank you for your support.
