Catholic Bishops Back Trans-Lobby, Ruth Inst. Requests Clarification

“I’d like to ask the two Catholic bishops who released a statement condemning ‘discrimination’ against ‘transgender individuals,’ what exactly they mean by ‘discrimination’” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

The Human Rights Campaign recently released a letter signed by Archbishop John Wester of Santa Fe, NM, Bishop John Stowe of Lexington, KY, and other religious leaders. The letter states in part: “That we might not understand an individual’s experience, does not mean we are to discriminate against them, nor to tolerate any form of discrimination they might endure.”

“Everything turns on the definition of ‘discrimination,’” Morse said. “The letter doesn’t provide even a hint of a definition.

“For instance, when men who say they are women compete against biological women in sports, who is discriminating against whom?” asked Morse. “I’d like some clarification from Archbishop Wester. If we are to avoid all unjust discrimination, whose side do we take in this dispute? Why not stand in solidarity with the biological women who have trained for years and are losing access to awards and scholarships when they are routinely defeated by mediocre male athletes who say they’re women?

“What about the rapists who claim they are really women, and demand to be housed in an all-women’s prison? Tell us, Bishop Stowe, who most needs us to be ‘stewards of justice and mercy’: The men who say they’re women, or the women inmates who fear being raped?

“I’d like to hear the bishops speak out about the injustice of insurance companies who pay for the removal of healthy tissues but refuse to pay for ‘detransition’ health care. This sounds like discrimination to me. I wonder what Archbishop Wester and Bishop Stowe think,” Morse mused.

“If we stand with the perennial teaching of the Catholic Church, these thorny issues will not arise,” Morse said. A 2019 Declaration of Truth by Cardinal Raymond Burke and a number of other Catholic bishops is an authentic statement of Catholic doctrine. The Declaration calls transgenderism “a rebellion against natural and Divine law,” and considers it “a grave sin that a man may attempt to become a woman by mutilating himself, or even by simply declaring himself to be such, or that a woman may in like manner attempt to become a man, or to hold that the civil authority has the duty or the right to act as if such things were or may be possible or legitimate.”

“The trans movement is trying to force the public to affirm a lie: That an individual with male XY chromosomes is a woman because he says so,” Morse said. “Compelling people to treat men who say they are women as if they are actually women is itself a form of coercion and is inconsistent with human dignity.”

Morse concluded, “We await clarification from Archbishop Wester and Bishop Stowe on these important questions.”

Global Ruling Class Supports Sexual Revolution at Cost of Individuals’ Health and Well-being

“Whatever the outcome of Tuesday’s election, COVID policy is likely to change,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “We should not forget the lessons we’ve learned about the Global Ruling Class and their priorities. Since the pandemic was declared in March, we have learned that there really is a Global technocratic ruling class and that they fully support the Sexual Revolution.”

Here are a few examples of their priorities:

  • Churches are closed but abortion clinics remain open.
  • People postpone medical care to avoid overloading hospitals, but, after a very brief pause, transgender medical procedures continue.
  • Hugging our family members is considered unsafe but having sex with strangers is safe.
  • Millions of businesses are threatened with economic ruin– one in six restaurants went out of business-- but the pornography industry is thriving.
  • The Global Ruling Class uses the internet to manipulate and intimidate dissent from its COVID edicts, but does not make even a token effort to limit internet pornography.
  • Millions are suffering from depression, anxiety, and addiction relapses. The Global Ruling Class has done next to nothing to alleviate or even acknowledge this vast human cost.
  • Contact tracing is considered vital to combat spread of the virus, but casual sex with strangers is okay.

Regarding the last, Morse observed: “Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president’s COVID expert, favors contact tracing for those infected with the virus, but has no problem with sex among those who’ve hooked up through sites like Tinder or Grindr. In an April interview, the immunologist said that if someone chooses to be intimate with a casual acquaintance ‘that’s your choice’ regarding the risk.”

Morse added: “The unlimited abortion and contraception rights are based on a ‘right to privacy’ which the US Supreme Court discovered emanating from the penumbra of the First Amendment. All of a sudden, the technocratic elites have no privacy concerns whatsoever about testing or contact tracing for the Coronavirus.”

“The bottom line here,” said Morse, “is that the Global Ruling Class didn’t let COVID interfere in any way with the Sexual Revolution, which it embraces enthusiastically. Throughout the COVID crisis, virtually every aspect of life has been turned upside down, but not one premise of the Sexual Revolution has been challenged. The Global Ruling Class has tipped its hand: they support the Sexual Revolution, even when it risks people's health and well-being.”

Ruth Inst. and Life Site News Launch Petition for Presidential Debate on the Family

Partnering with Life Site News, today, the Ruth Institute launched a petition to the U.S. Commission on Presidential Debates calling for a 4th debate to be focused on the family.

Ruth Institute President Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., explained: “The decline of the family is at the root of most of our problems. We’re calling for one debate focused exclusively on what the candidates will do to support the family.”

She continued: “Honestly, I’m shocked that we even have to state this obvious point: Every human life begins with a family. Every significant challenge the United States faces can be improved by strengthening the family. The breakdown of the family and the over-sexualization of society create massive problems affecting the economy, the criminal justice system, public health, education, and even national defense. The rioting in our cities is in part the result of family breakdown.”

Three debates are scheduled on September 29, October 15, and October 22, to cover public health, including COVID 19, public safety, the economy, and defense/foreign policy.

Morse said, “These are all important issues to be sure. But unless something is done immediately, the family will once again be ignored. Issues like marriage, the right to life, parental rights in education and health, sex education in schools, pornography, population control, and declining fertility will be overlooked entirely or treated as an afterthought.”

She added: “We believe this is the first time such a debate has been proposed by anyone. We at the Ruth Institute and our friends at Life Petitions think it’s about time.”
