“Individuals with a Cervix” is the Latest Effort to Erase Women, Ruth Inst. Charges

“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., regarding CNN using the expression “individuals with a cervix” instead of women, in a story about screenings for cervical cancer.

“We have come to expect this kind of nonsense from CNN. It’s no wonder CNN is at the bottom of the cable-news heap, with roughly half the viewership of FOX News.”

Morse continued, “I was really disappointed to see that the CNN story was a direct report from the American Cancer Society’s premier journal. The medical profession, including venerable organizations like the American Cancer Society, has gone all-in for the Sexual Revolution.”

“Increasingly, the Ruling Class and the Beautiful People of society avoid saying ‘man’ and ‘woman,’ to avoid offending men who say they are women,” said Morse. “In May, a UN official said we need to make language more ‘gender-neutral’ by avoiding words like ‘husband’ and ‘wife,’” she explained.

Morse urged: “CNN and the American Cancer Society need to get a grip on reality. There are two, and only two, sexes – male and female. A man doesn’t become a woman by wanting to be one, or by mutilating his body with hormones and surgery, none of which alters his DNA.”

Morse continued: “Only women can get cervical cancer, because only a woman has a cervix. Why is that so hard to understand? For decades progressives have claimed to be empowering women. Now they are erasing them and pretending that male and female are ‘social constructs.’ The Sexual Revolution was never really about empowering women.”

“There seems to be no end to CNN’s language-manipulation. Instead of saying ‘baby,’ it once used the expression ‘a fetus that was born,’ referring to protections for infants that survive an abortion,” Morse said.

“Just because CNN ‘self-identifies’ as a news channel doesn’t make it one.”

Ruth Institute’s 2020 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution an Overwhelming Success

July 22, 2020

For Immediate Release

For More Information: media@ruthinstitute.org

The Ruth Institute’s 2020 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution (July 17-18) overcame last-minute challenges to emerge as an historic contribution to the cause of educating the public about the millions of lives damaged by the Sexual Revolution.

“Despite new restrictions on public gatherings in Louisiana, announced by our governor only the week before the event, our 2020 Summit was more successful than we could have hoped,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

Morse explained that the Summit was a hybrid event, with in-person participation in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and online involvement. “None of the evils we confronted – pornography, sexual abuse, gender confusion, coercive population control and dramatically falling fertility – are going to call a time-out for a pandemic,” Morse observed.

The Summit included an Ambassador’s Program (intensive leadership training, by invitation only), an Awards Banquet and the Summit itself. Sessions included Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse -- Surviving Pornography -- Surviving the LGBT Sub-Culture -- and Reporting from the Trenches on the Transgender Movement.

Among the topics covered in the Ambassador’s training program were: Understanding the Global Sexual RevolutionMedical Tragedies of the Sexual RevolutionSocial Science Evidence About the Sexual Revolution – and Human Rights Catastrophes of the Sexual Revolution: Population Control and Demographic Winter.

The speakers and panelists included experts as well as those offering personal testimony, among them: Dr. Michelle Cretella (Executive Director, American College of Pediatricians), Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D. (former Professor of Sociology at Catholic University of America and Senior Research Associate at the Ruth Institute), Dr. Paul Church (former Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Harvard Medical School), Sue Ellen Browder (a journalist and author of Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement), Luis Ruiz (a survivor of the Pulse Nightclub shootings who subsequently left the LGBT lifestyle), Faith Hakesley (a victim of rape by a Catholic priest who met with Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI), Brandon Showalter (a journalist who has written extensively on the trans movement), Melea Stephens (a family therapist and board member of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation) and Attorney Cathy Cleaver Ruse (formerly Pro-Life Spokesman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops now Senior Fellow for Legal Studies at the Family Research Council).

Morse summed up the importance of having a live event during the time of COVID: “The relationships and friendships formed were invaluable. Although we were delighted to offer online participation to those who weren’t able to join us in person, including some of our speakers, there are distinct advantages that come from being physically present in a conference room with leaders and activists who are working on the same issues and share your perspective.”

“They need and deserve to have their values defended with research, analysis and personal anecdotes,” Morse said, “and we were grateful to be in a position to do just that.”

Recordings from the summit will be available on-line in the not too distant future.

Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution (July 17-18) Will Be an Historic Event

July 16, 2020

For Immediate Release

For More Information: media@ruthinstitute.org

“Despite the rapidly changing COVID landscape here in Louisiana, we’re pleased to announce that the Ruth Institute’s 2020 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution will take place as planned, tomorrow, July 17 – with an awards banquet in the evening-- and Saturday, July 18, in Lake Charles,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., president of the Ruth Institute.

The Summit will be a hybrid event with both in-person participation and live-streaming. It will present an analysis of the many ways the Sexual Revolution attacks both the individual and the family, and will include the testimony of survivors.

Morse explained: “The Sexual Revolution has brought in its wake a host of pathologies and addictions. We’ll be looking at some of the most destructive of these.”

Presentations and panels will include:

  • Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse – The future of health and the family depends on ending it. No one will do this but us! Presented by Dr. Morse and Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D.
  • Pornography as a Public Health Crisis – “Protecting Young Eyes: Tools for Parents and Other Educators” presented by Melea Stephens (marriage and family therapist) and Chris McKenna (youth minister).
  • Surviving the LGBT Subculture: Medical Issues – includes health risks associated with common sexual activity among same-sex partners as well as through understanding medical issues involved in so-called “gender affirmation medical treatments,” presented by Dr. Michelle Cretella, MD.
  • Reporting on the Transgender Movement -- a report from the front lines, including stories from parents of gender-confused children, “resisters” (individuals who lived as the opposite sex and stopped), resistance within the medical profession and surprising new allies, presented by journalist Brandon Showalter.

The program will also include activists’ panels, question and answer sessions and general discussions.

Among the participants on the Surviving the LGBT Subculture panel is Doug Mainwaring, a journalist, and Luis Ruiz, who survived the Pulse Nightclub shootings. Both left the LGBT subculture.

“This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear both expert analysis and first-hand testimony on the trauma inflicted by the Sexual Revolution,” Morse said. “The emphasis will be on healing.”

“They may not be household names, but they have crucial information and first-hand experience about what the Sexual Revolution has done to individuals and society,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., President of The Ruth Institute, in describing the speakers for the upcoming Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution, July 17-18 in Lake Charles, LA.

“Our speakers include professionals who have worked with these issues for years, and survivors who can bear witness to the trauma of a movement sold as liberation that’s resulted in the physical and spiritual enslavement of millions,” Morse said.

The speakers include:

Dr. Paul Church – a practicing urologist for over 35 years and Asst. Professor of Surgery at the Harvard Medical School who was fired for challenging his colleagues to tell the truth about the health consequences of LGBTQ behavior.

Sue Ellen Browder – a former Cosmopolitan journalist who’s appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows (including Oprah, The Today Show and EWTN) and is the author of the recently published Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement.

Tracy Shannon -- When her husband of 15 years left her to live as a woman, she decided to combat the new sexual morality. As Director of MassResistance Texas, she’s fought Drag Queen Story Hours in libraries across the state.

Fr Paul Sullins, Ph.D. – Senior Research Associate of the Ruth Institute and a retired sociology professor who’s done pioneering work on the impact of same-sex parenting on children and the relationship between clergy sex abuse and homosexual ordination within the Catholic priesthood.

Dr. Michelle Cretella MD. – a pediatrician and full-time Executive Director of the American College of Pediatricians. Dr. Cretella is one of the world’s most outspoken critics of the gender ideology in pediatrics and the author of “Gender Dysphoria in Children and Suppression of Debate” in the Summer 2016 issue of Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.

Luis Ruiz – wounded in the 2016 Pulse Night Club shooting in Orlando, in which 50 died and 58 were injured. Supreme Court Strikes Down Mildest of Abortion Restrictions

June 30, 2020

For Immediate Release

For more information, contact media@ruthinstitute.org.

The Supreme Court struck down a Louisiana law requiring abortionists to be within 30 miles of a hospital in case of a botched abortion. “How can the pro-abortion movement, which claims to care about women, oppose something that is for the health and protection of the mother?” asked Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

“The Supreme Court’s liberal majority will do all it can to facilitate the Sexual Revolution, of which abortion is the crown jewel,” Morse said. “We’re told sex should be child-free, guilt-free and problem-free. If something inconvenient like conception occurs, abortion is the fail-safe.”

Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D., Senior Research Associate of the Ruth Institute, said, “No one who welcomes the Supreme Court's latest decision can ever again claim to be against substandard ‘back-alley’ abortions. The Court's myopic decisions in Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton created this problem in the first place by preventing the adoption of federal standards for surgical abortions.

“Ample experience of women's brutal treatment at the hands of uncaring, self-serving abortion providers has shown that the abortion industry cannot regulate itself. Now the reasonable attempt by the people of Louisiana to ensure that the horrors of death mills such as Dr. Gosnell's in Pennsylvania can have no place in their state, have been thwarted by the self-appointed experts in medical care of the Supreme Court.”

Fr. Sullins will speak on post-abortion trauma at the Ruth Institute’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution July 17-18 in Lake Charles, LA.

The United Nations Advances the Sexual Revolution – What’s to Celebrate?

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. “The Ruth Institute will not be celebrating,” said Founder and President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. “What could have been a force for peace and understanding has led the war on unborn children and human reproduction.”

Since its founding in 1969, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has spent an estimated $20 billion facilitating abortion and forced sterilization campaigns worldwide. President Trump ended U.S. funding of UNFPA in 2017, saving taxpayers $32.5 million annually.

Morse explained: “At the time, the U.S. administration noted UNFPA’s complicity in China’s notorious one-child policy -- which included forced abortion and involuntary sterilizations -- affecting half a billion women over 30 years. The UN agency has held up China’s program as a model for developing nations to follow.”

Coalitions Director of the Ruth Institute, Don Feder said, “The United Nations Population Fund has sowed the wind and is reaping the whirlwind with its attack on human reproduction. Worldwide, the fertility rate is half of what it was in the 1960s.”

“It will be impossible to maintain industrialized civilization with declining populations,” Feder continued. “With pension costs and medical care for the elderly rising, and tax revenue declining from fewer workers, national budgets will be caught in a squeeze. Loneliness and suicide among the elderly will also rise. As it slips into old age, a whole generation will be left with no children or grandchildren to visit them in retirement – or one child a thousand miles away who may call them once a month. We can thank the United Nations for this human tragedy.”

Feder will be addressing population control and demographic winter at the Ruth Institute’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution, July 17-18 in Lake Charles, LA. Learn more about the Summit here.

Survivors Summit Covers Abuse, Addictions and Attitudes that Threaten our Civilization

June 23, 2020

For Immediate Release

For More Information: media@ruthinstitute.org

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s disastrous Bostock decision, the Ruth Institute’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution takes on extreme urgency. The Summit, to be held July 17-18, in Lake Charles, LA, will analyze the many ways the Sexual Revolution needs the power of the State to do its destructive work.

Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., stated, “The Bostock ruling redefines “female” and “male” for purposes of law. The Obergefell decision redefined marriage. The Federalist Society vetted Gorsuch, appointed by Pres. Trump, who wrote the majority opinion. This terrible ruling shows that the conservative legal establishment has no idea how to address sexual and social issues. The Sexual Revolution attacks both the individual and the family. At our Summit, we’ll take a hard look at some of the most destructive pathologies the Global Ruling Class has inflicted on ordinary people.”

Expert presentations will include:

  • Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse – The future of health and the family depends on ending it. No one will do this but people of faith! Presented by Dr. Morse and Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D.
  • Surviving Pornography, as a nation, as a family, as an individual: Pornography as a Public Health Crisis, Melea Stephens (of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation) and Protecting Young Eyes: Tools for Parents and Other Educators, presented by Chris McKenna (of Covenant Eyes).
  • Surviving the LGBT Sub-Culture: Medical Issues – presented by Dr. Michelle Cretella, MD, of the American College of Pediatricians.
  • Reporting from the front lines of the Transgender Movement – stories from parents of gender-confused children, “desisters” (individuals who lived as the opposite sex and stopped), resistance within the medical profession and surprising new allies, presented by journalist Brandon Showalter.

The program will also include testimony from Survivors of the Sexual Revolution, as well as activists’ panels, question and answer sessions and general discussions.

Among the participants on the Surviving the LGBT subculture panel are journalist Doug Mainwaring and Pulse Nightclub shooting survivor, Luis Ruiz. Both left the LGBT subculture.

Morse observed: “After the Bostock ruling, social conservatives of all faiths have realized beyond any shadow of a doubt: we are on our own. Participants at our Summit will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of redefining the direction of the social conservative movement. The encounter with experts and their analysis, the first-hand testimony of Survivors, and the experience of effective activists, will inspire participants. They will come away with new friends as well as practical tips on how to get involved and make a difference.”

Awards Dinner Honors Heroes at Ruth Inst. Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution

June 12, 2020

For Immediate Release

For more information, contact media@ruthinstitute.org.

As part of its Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution (July 17-18 in Lake Charles, LA) the Ruth Institute will host its Third Annual Awards Dinner July 17. The honorees are:

Public Witness Award: Sue Ellen Browder, author of How I helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement. As a freelance writer for Cosmopolitan, Browder became a propagandist for sexual liberation by promoting unmarried sex, contraception and abortion as the single woman’s path to personal fulfillment. Browder will also deliver the keynote address.

Activism Award: Cathy Ruse, graduate of Georgetown University Law School and past spokeswoman on human life issues for the U.S. Catholic Bishops Conference. Ruse is being honored for exposing the Fairfax Co., Virginia Board of Education for using a Planned Parenthood-endorsed Comprehensive Sex Education program.

Professional Integrity Award: Dr. Paul Church, Cornell-trained urologist, who worked for 28 years at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In 2013, he was removed from practice at this and other Boston-area hospitals for urging them not to participate in LGBT events, due to overwhelming evidence that same-sex practices increase the risk of disease and mental health problems. He compared this to the medical community promoting smoking.

Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., observed: “Our three honorees have been on the front lines of the fight to expose and oppose the more pernicious aspects of the Sexual Revolution. They are all heroes, and we are proud of their participation in our Survivors Summit.”

The Summit will also include “It Takes a Family to Raise a Village,” an Ambassador Training Conference (by application only) on July 17, and the full-day Summit program on July 18.
