Chick-fil-A Chickens Out – Bows to LGBT Lobby

November 21, 2019

For Immediate Release

For more information, email media@ruthinstitute.org.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., responded to the news that Chick-fil-A’s foundation will no longer give to Christian groups which oppose same-sex marriage. “Once the third largest restaurant of its kind stood for something fine and noble,” Morse said. “Now they’ve shown that their principles are negotiable, which means they have none.”

Morse observed, “The company’s charitable foundation just announced that they will no longer donate to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes because of their refusal to worship at the altar of the Sexual Revolution.”

In a letter to the corporation, Steve Hicks, a member of The Ruth Institute’s board of directors, wrote, “Yesterday’s news that Chick-fil-A folded to political pressure from the LGBT elitists was so sad. Now you will go the way of the Boy Scouts and become irrelevant.”

Hicks continued: “You might have a few precious hours left to fire your executives and recover some trust with your base, but it may be too late. You just nuked your founder's core values and dream. How am I supposed to eat another sandwich without being sick to my stomach? It would violate my core values of principled leadership and American entrepreneurial independence.”

Morse added, “Sexual revolutionaries are relentless in crushing dissent. No deviation will be permitted, however principled. How long will it be before Chick-fil-A is delivering sandwiches to gay pride parades?”

Morse concluded: “We can only sadly quote the words of Winston Churchill to Neville Chamberlain after Munich. 'You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war.' Chick-fil-A has just returned from its personal Munich singing the siren song of appeasement.”

Daleiden Verdict Protects Sale of Aborted Body Parts

November 20, 2019

For Immediate Release

For more information, email media@ruthinstitute.org.

Commenting on the bizarre verdict in the David Daleiden case, Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., observed, “Keeping abortion safe and legal has never been enough.”

Daleiden and his team covertly recorded Planned Parenthood employees discussing how they illegally planned to sell body parts from aborted babies.

The judge ruled that Planned Parenthood’s privacy had been violated and awarded it $2.2 million in damages. Morse said the verdict is another instance of the Sexual Deep State “circling the wagons” to protect abortion because “it is the ultimate guarantor of sex being a sterile activity.”

“The ideology also holds that every person old enough to give meaningful consent is entitled to unlimited, child-free, problem-free, guilt-free sex. That’s why abortion must always be presented in a positive light – as enhancing freedom rather than advancing an ideology at the cost of countless lives.”

“If abortion has serious side effects for some, publicizing that fact undermines the ‘right’ to sex,” Morse continued. “Further, if the abortion industry is out for its own financial gain and should not be trusted, that too, undermines the belief that inconvenient conceptions can always be undone.”

The Sexual Revolutionary ideology rests on three principles: separating sex from babies, separating sex and babies from marriage, and removing the differences between men and women.

“The Sexual Revolution has been a power grab every bit as significant in reshaping society as the French or the Bolshevik Revolution,” Morse noted.

Ruth Institute Decries Judge’s Gag Order in #SaveJames Case

October 31, 2019

For immediate release

For more information contact media@ruthinstitute.org.

Last week, the judge in the case of James Younger, the seven-year-old-boy whose mother wants to turn him into a “transgendered” girl, issued a gag order preventing James’ father from discussing the case publicly. Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. said, “This is an egregious abridgement of the father’s First Amendment rights.”

James’ divorced parents each sought sole custody. His mother, who’s been making him wear dresses, painting his nails, and telling him he’s a girl named “Luna” since age three, has been taking him to a “gender clinic.” She wants to use drugs, and possibly surgery, to complete the process. His father is adamantly opposed.

Morse continued: “If the case hadn’t been publicized, due mostly to the interviews the father did, few of us would have known about what could have been a terrible miscarriage of justice. I believe the judge’s resolution of the case – including giving the parents joint medical decision-making – was due in part to an extraordinary public outcry.”

Matt Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, says, “It’s fairly straightforward that you can’t gag a father from talking about his son to the media.” Staver calls the order “an outrageous decision by the court that’s clearly unconstitutional.”

Morse added: “Family court judges have an astonishing amount of power. Judge Kim Cooks could have given the mother everything she wanted – sole custody and the unimpeded power to effectively castrate her son. That’s what the jury recommended. If the case was decided in the dark, the judge might have confirmed it.” A petition in support of the father on Life Petitions has more than 86,000 signers.

In another Texas custody case, where four-year-old Drake Pardo was taken from his family over what was alleged to be medical abuse, a Dallas-area judge issued a similar gag order against the family.

A week ago, Texas Solicitor General Kyle Hawkins submitted a brief on behalf of the state of Texas calling the gag order “unconstitutional,” writing that the order “is plainly overboard and cannot be squared with the First Amendment’s free speech guarantees.”

Morse stated: “Injustice grows in the dark. The #SaveJames case deserves the widest possible exposure and unhampered discussion. The father’s freedom of speech must be restored.”

In a recent webcast of The Dr. J Show on the Ruth Institute Youtube page, Morse revealed the hidden dimensions of the case. “Transgenderism, third-party reproduction, and divorce all increase the power of the state over the lives of ordinary people. This is the Sexual Deep State at work.”

Morse explained, “Our #SaveJames campaign is part of the Ruth Institute’s overall mission to counter the Sexual Revolution and speak out for its victims.”

Ruth Institute President Says Teaching LGBT History is Indoctrination, Not Education

For more information, contact: media@ruthinstitute.org.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., called the growing trend in public schools of teaching LGBT history “the institutionalization of the Sexual Revolution.”

“For years, activists have sought to use schools to advance their sexualized worldview,” Morse explained. “They are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams. California, New Jersey, Colorado and now Illinois require exposing children to this ‘instruction.’ ”

Morse noted an assault on parental rights. “Since most sex education instruction has an opt-out provision, activists have branched out, inserting LGBT instruction into history, foreign language and even art classes.”

Morse urged parents to be vigilant to stop this indoctrination from spreading. “The mandates for these classes are usually based on a vote of the state legislature. Often, legislators hear from only one side – the proponents of these radical measures.”

“You might say eternal vigilance is the price of morality,” Morse concluded.

Ruth Institute President Warns: Big Tech has become Big Brother

For more information, contact: media@ruthinstitute.org.

“It’s been a month since the White House conference on social media censorship and nothing has changed,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., founder and president of the Ruth Institute.

Twitter recently banned a video posted by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. “Twitter said the video’s ‘violent language’ violated its standards,” Dr. Morse stated. “But the threats were being directed against McConnell by activists demonstrating at his home. If social media giants like Twitter can do this to the leader of the United States Senate, imagine what they can do to ordinary pro-family groups,” Morse observed.

She cited the recent example of Google’s refusal to run ads for the movie Unplanned and Amazon’s decision to ban books about conversion therapy.“The Sexual Revolutionaries can’t answer our arguments, so they suppress, suppress, suppress,” Morse charged. “Their Big Tech allies have become Big Brother, protecting us from thoughts that disturb their regime.”

Commenting on Google’s treatment of Unplanned, Dr. Morse noted:

“This film is based on a true story, about the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic who quit after watching a sonogram of an abortion for the first time. This woman had been kept in the dark about the nature of abortion. Now Google tried to keep moviegoers in the dark about one of the first general-release films to expose Planned Parenthood.”

Dr. Morse also noted Amazon’s decision to ban books about Conversion Therapy, which offers hope to adults experiencing unwanted same-sex attraction. These include the works of the late Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, considered by many as the father of Conversion Therapy. Amazon caved to pressure from gay activists.

“For heaven’s sake, what are they afraid of?” Morse asked. “For years, we have been told no one can be harmed by a book. Unless, of course, it is a book that contains ideas they don’t like. Amazon banned books containing the testimony of people who were once gay, and who now live a different life. These people defy the ‘born that way’ article of sexual revolutionary faith. So, naturally Big Tech Brother wants to ban them.”

Morse concluded: “We invite those interested in factual analysis and the unvarnished truth to visit the Ruth Institute’s website, www.ruthinstitute.org.”

Ruth Institute President Blasts the American Psychological Association for Pushing Sexual Anarchy

For more information, contact: Rachel Golden info@ruthinstitute.org

Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., founder and president of the Ruth Institute, expressed grave concern over the American Psychological Association’s announcement that it will set up a task force that promotes awareness and inclusivity about consensual non-monogamy.” In plain English, “non-monogamy” means multiple concurrent sexual partners, sometimes known as polyamory.

Morse said, “The goal of mental health professionals used to be to help individuals overcome harmful tendencies. Mental health professionals used to believe that children deserved love and support from their parents. Now the APA is completely ignoring the impact of adult sexual behavior on children. Their only considerations seem to be making adults feel good about themselves and fighting ‘stigmatization.’’’

Dr. Morse added, “The APA’s position is that as long as sex is consensual, no judgement should be attached. In the #MeToo era, we have learned just how thin a reed “consent” can be. This idea that individuals are entitled to whatever sex life they want, regardless of the consequences, is a basic belief of the Sexual Revolution. In the past half-century, this has been a recipe for disaster, as statistics on divorce, out-of-wedlock births and fatherless families show.”

The Ruth Institute affirms that: “Every child has a right to a relationship with their natural mother and father except for in an unavoidable tragedy.” Traditional Judeo-Christian sexual ethics protected the rights of children to stable relationships with their own parents.

Morse asked, “What happens when little Johnny comes home and finds Mommy in bed with a strange man? If she explains to him that the relationship is ‘consensual,’ and Daddy knows about it, will that lessen the emotional trauma? What about the rights of children? Will their consent be sought too?

When little Susie is scared at night and wants to get in bed with Mommy, will it really be ok for her to get in bed with Mommy’s partner who isn’t her Daddy? Please people, let’s show some common sense and compassion for children.”

Since the 1970s, the APA helped to normalize aberrant sexual behavior between adults. No one has stopped to ask about the long-term price children have paid, and that society continues to pay. Now it’s taking that one step further, by trying to get the public to accept multiple sexual partners. If they succeed, children and society will pay a steep price.

Sexual Revolution Enables Abusers like Epstein and McCarrick

For more information, contact: Rachel Golden info@ruthinstitute.org

“The Sexual Revolution says we’re all entitled to sex. But who actually believes such a thing? The rapist, that’s who!” --Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, President of the Ruth Institute.

Ruth Institute Founder and President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse Ph.D. said that Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein and former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick were all enabled by society’s acceptance of the ideology of the sexual revolution.

Writing in the July 10th National Catholic Register, Morse noted that all three were aided by “a belief system that claims that sex is an entitlement. They operated according to the tenets of the most powerful ideology in the world: the ideology of the sexual revolution.”

Morse urged us to reject the rationalization that, “The rich and powerful have always been able to buy their way out of problems.”

Yes, wealth, fame and power aided predators like Epstein. But the tenets of the sexual revolution softened up their victims. These tenets include: Sex is no more than a physical act. What are you ashamed of? And everyone is entitled to do whatever they can get away with.

“This toxic belief system is destroying individual lives and leading to social chaos,” Morse observed.

The Ruth Institute opposes this with “The Catholic belief system which tells us no one is entitled to sex. Children are entitled to a relationship with both of their parents. Women and men are entitled to the love and loyalty of their spouses.”

“Our belief system of traditional Christian sexual ethics has made us Public Enemy No. 1 of the sexual revolutionaries,” Morse added.

The Ruth Institute works to empower survivors of the sexual revolution – including victims of divorce, abuse and the LGBT culture. In April, the Institute held the first-ever Survivors’ Summit in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

The Institute has been particularly effective in researching the crisis of clerical sex abuse, with its reports on homosexuality and the priesthood being cited around the world. In a June 10 story, The Washington Post quoted Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano on the importance of the Institute’s research.

Since the beginning of 2019, Dr. Morse has addressed leaders and activists at the Family Research Council and been interviewed on the Mike Huckabee Show on TBN and “The World Over” with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN.

Her latest book is The Sexual State: How Elite Ideologies are Destroying Lives (and how the Church was Right All Along).

Ruth Institute President Decries “Gender-Fluid” Dating Show

For more information, contact media@ruthinstitute.org.

Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D. accused MTV of “selling gender confusion” with the first “sexually fluid” episode of its dating show “Are You the One?” which airs tonight at 9 pm Eastern.

The episode takes 16 singles to Hawaii where they look for their perfect match and compete for a chance to split a $1 million prize. The contestants have either “changed genders” or said they’re open to dating anyone, regardless of their declared identity.

“MTV isn’t promoting tolerance,” Morse declared. “They’re selling the ideological agenda of the Sexual Revolution. An individual can no more change their sex than they can change their species. Your sex is biologically given at birth. The gender-confused should seek counseling to live with that reality.”

Morse notes that Jamie Shupe, who an Oregon Court declared America’s first “nonbinary person” three years ago, is now living as a man again. An army veteran, Shupe says that his attempt to change genders “was all a sham.”

Shupe adds: “I’m one of the lucky ones. Despite participating in medical transgenderism for six years, my body is still intact. Most people who desist from transgender identities after gender changes can’t say the same.”

According to Forbes magazine, since 2011 MTV has lost 50% of its audience in the lucrative 18-49 demographic. Morse called tonight’s effort to spread gender-confusion “a pathetic attempt to make itself relevant. The cable network should be helping those with gender dysphoria, not trying to make their condition attractive.”

Dr. Morse’s latest book is “The Sexual State: How Elite Ideologies Are Destroying Lives,” covers transgenderism and other aspects of the Gender Ideology.

The Ruth Institute is a global non-profit organization equipping Christians to defend the family and build a civilization of love. On April 26-27, the Institute held a Summit for Survivors of Sexual Revolution in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Summit included discussions about Gender Ideology.

Ruth Institute Summit Focuses on Victims of the Sexual Revolution

For more information contact: Rachel Golden info@ruthinstitute.org

“Divorce and the LGBT subculture have changed the face of America in ways that cry out for thoughtful examination,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., founder and president of The Ruth Institute. “Our Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution will do just that, with a unique blend of scholarship and personal stories.” The Summit will take place April 26-27, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Testimony on the toxic effects of the LGBT sub-culture will include Moira Greyland, daughter of iconic science fiction writer Marion Zimmer Bradley (author of the Mists of Avalon series). In her autobiography The Last Closet: The Dark Side of Avalon, Greyland exposes how her mother molested her for years. Later, Greyland blew the whistle on her father, who was arrested for abusing an 11-year-old boy. “It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve been able to confront what my parents did to me,” said Greyland, who will receive The Ruth Institute’s “Public Witness of the Year Award,” at a banquet on April 26.

Luis Ruiz is a survivor of the 2016 mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando. Speaking of the Pulse night club attack, Ruiz observed that 49 people were killed, “I was almost 50.” The shock and horror of the tragedy, as well as the knowledge that he was HIV positive, helped Ruiz to turn his life around.

Greyland and Ruiz will share the spotlight with critics and survivors of divorce, including Leila Miller, author of Primal Loss: The Now Adult Children of Divorce Speak and Dr. Stephen Baskerville, professor of government at Patrick Henry College, speaking on “How Does the State Benefit from Your Divorce?”

Other speakers include adult children of divorce and divorce reform advocates, as well as sociologist Fr. D. Paul Sullins, author of The Ruth Institute’s report on clergy sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church, and Robert A.J. Gagnon, Professor of New Testament Theology at Houston Baptist University who will receive the Ruth Institute’s “Scholar of the Year Award” at the Awards Dinner Friday evening.

“No one knows more about the history of the sexual revolution than Jennifer Roback Morse, and no organization has shown more compassion toward its many victims than The Ruth Institute,” says Family Research Council Senior Fellow for Policy Studies Peter Sprigg. “We welcome this constructive response to the destructive ideologies that have wrought such havoc.”

“The Sexual Revolution is often praised for how it changed America,” said Morse. “But what are those changes? Broken families and increased misery and loneliness. The all-star panels at The Ruth Institute’s Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution are just the first step in exposing the truth about this destructive ideology.”

President of Ruth Institute Says Teacher Fired for Calling a Girl “She” Shows How the Power of Government Supports the Sexual Revolution

More information: media@ruthinstitute.org.

On Friday, October 7, a group of students at the West Point, Virginia, high school staged a peaceful protest in support of a teacher who was fired for referring to a female student who “identifies” as male as “she.”

“Absurd as it is, we shouldn’t be surprised by this,” says Ruth Institute Founder and President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse. “What’s called transgenderism is a movement that can’t succeed without the raw power of the state behind it.”

Among other “transgender” victories, California now allows “nonbinary” (refusal to be identified by gender) as an option on drivers’ licenses. Some hospitals don’t designate a newborn by sex. Genitalia is no longer enough to distinguish male from female.

In her book, The Sexual State: How Elite Ideologies Are Destroying Lives, Morse notes that the Gender Ideology (a key component of the Sexual Revolution) “separates individuals from their own bodies, which are regarded as unreasonable constraints on one’s freedom and self-determination.”

Thus, says Morse: “All differences between men and women, including seemingly natural differences, can be reconstructed with enough re-engineering of human biological hardware and social cultural software. The modern Sexual State will, of course, be on hand to ensure that the entire society conforms itself to each individual’s newly chosen identity.”

In this case, through the unanimous action of the West Point, VA, school board, the Sexual State could end up destroying the career of a dedicated teacher for refusing to endorse the Gender Ideology.

The Ruth Institute calls for the reinstatement of the teacher in question, who should not be punished for recognizing reality instead of entering the fantasy world of gender choice.
