Ruth Inst. Thanks Sharon Stone for Criticizing Cancel Culture

“I would like to thank actress Sharon Stone for her support of free speech and her criticism of the Cancel Culture,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

In a recent interview, Stone said, “I think the cancel culture is the stupidest thing I have ever seen happen. I think when people say things that they feel and mean and it’s offensive to you, it’s a brilliant opportunity for everyone to learn and grow and understand each other.”

Morse responded: “There are probably very few issues where the Ruth Institute agrees with Stone, who endorsed Biden in the last election. But she does understand that there’s nothing to be learned by shutting down your opponents. A healthy debate furthers the search for truth. The Cancel Culture erects a wall between opposing sides of any issue. The Ruth Institute and other pro-family organizations have been on the receiving end of this for a long time. We are glad to have Hollywood liberals like Sharon Stone as allies on this important issue.

“We feel so strongly about this that the Ruth Institute now has a Propaganda and Censorship Research Center to help fight censorship by big tech, big media and big government,” Morse disclosed.

Resources available at the Center include research like “How Unbiased are Fact Checkers,” a talk with James D. Agresti, president of Just Facts.

There’s also media like “Removed Book! A Talk with Brian Camenker, author of The Health Hazards of Homosexuality,” which was censored by Amazon.

And there are articles such as “Pepe Le Pew or Hugh Hefner: who normalized the rape culture?”

Morse explained: “A free society thrives on the free exchange of ideas. The Cancel Culture uses what it calls ‘hate’ to avoid a discussion of positions it has a hard time defending. It seems to be saying: ‘Don’t ask questions. Don’t challenge us. Just accept our word as law and shut up.’ I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sharon Stone for her fair-minded statement.”

Ruth Inst. Resource Center Fights Censorship and Propaganda

“I’m proud to announce that the Ruth Institute has opened its on-line Resource Center on Censorship and Propaganda,” said Ruth Institute President, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

Morse observed: “Thoughtful people from across the political spectrum are becoming alarmed by the ‘Cancel Culture,’ Big Tech censorship, and the endless flow of distorted ‘news’ that amounts to propaganda. Big Tech’s origin and lifeblood is the free flow of information, and yet they are leading the charge to censor everything from books to postings, websites to Tweets. At the same time, the media pushes insidiously disguised propaganda. The Legacy Media, along with Tech Giants like Amazon, Google, Facebook, and Twitter, have moved from the information/communications business to the censorship and propaganda business.”

Morse urged: “In our work defending the family, the Ruth Institute has become increasingly convinced that the premises of the Sexual Revolution are simply false. Those who promote the Sexual Revolution must resort to distortion, half-truths, propaganda, and outright censorship. We created The Ruth Institute Propaganda and Censorship Resource Center to help people learn to identify and fight propaganda.”

The Resource Center includes reports and videos such as:

“Why the constant censorship is not surprising.” This short video from Dr. Morse explains how the utopian fantasies of so many in the ruling class create a need for censorship. Anyone who points out for instance, that the Sexual Revolution is harming people, must be silenced.

“How I helped the Sexual Revolution hijack the women’s movement.” This is a video (with transcript) of a speech by former Cosmopolitan writer Sue Ellen Browder, explaining how and why the “Cosmo Girl” was invented.

“How unbiased are the fact checkers?” Dr. Morse interviews “Just Facts” Founder Jim Agresti on how and why “Fact-Checkers” so often miss the mark.

“Removed book – a talk with the author of The Health Hazards of Homosexuality.” Gay sex is risky. No one has ever refuted the contents of this book, but Amazon removed it and the authors’ account. This interview tells the whole story.

“NBC again smears the Ruth Institute as a hate group,” is one of a series of press releases in which the Ruth Institute responds to the bogus “hate group” claims.

“This is only a small taste of the materials available at the Ruth Institute’s Censorship and Propaganda Resource Center now,” Morse said. “We’ll include more and more resources over time. Our goals are to educate, activate and inspire. People are increasingly fed up with the steady diet of political correctness, and exhausted from trying to sort through the latest nonsense. We’re giving people the tools and the confidence to identify propaganda for themselves.”

“Equality Act” Will Force Us to Lie Says Ruth Institute

“Equality Act” Will Force Us to Lie Says Ruth Institute

The “Equality Act” making its way through Congress will force people to lie about the reality of biological sex and, by lying, to corrupt themselves,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.

“The Equality Act will require us to affirm that a man who says he’s a woman is in fact, in every way, a woman. If you can make people tell such an obvious lie, you can get them to do anything,” Morse said.

The bill, which passed the House on February 18, would amend the U.S. Civil Rights Act to add sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protected classes.

“But it goes far beyond that,” Morse said. “A man who says he’s a woman could stay overnight in a shelter for battered women. A convicted rapist who says he’s a woman could be housed in a women’s prison. The bill will force our daughters to use bathrooms, changing room and showers with biological males who say they are females. This is the height of insanity.

“If the so-called Equality Act becomes law, it will destroy women’s sports. For years, ‘progressives’ insisted on absolute equality between men and women’s sports. Clinton Administration officials went around closing men’s wrestling and swimming programs to achieve this goal. Now, in the name of a bogus equality, self-styled champions of women are killing women’s sports by forcing women and girls to compete with males who are, by their nature, stronger, faster and have greater endurance.

“I find it mystifying that a party that puts itself forth as a champion of women could do this to real flesh-and-blood women,” Morse charged.

“The ‘Equality Act’ would require Catholic physicians and hospitals to prescribe hormone treatments and perform surgery in violation of their conscience. Employers would not be allowed to discriminate on the basis of ‘gender identity.’ Airlines would have to use male TSA guards who say they are women to do pat-downs of biological, that is, real women.”

Morse warned, “We are on the verge of becoming a totalitarian society where the government commands citizens to lie. If this monstrosity becomes law, we will have gone over the edge and into uncharted territory.”

There’s a good chance the misnamed Equality Act can be stopped in the Senate, where 60 votes are needed to end a filibuster. Morse urged senators to “‘follow the science,’ in President Biden’s immortal words, and not endorse a deceptive appeal to minority rights. We cannot allow ideology to trump reality.”

Cancel Culture Has Us All in the Crosshairs Ruth Inst. Says

“This may be the greatest threat to freedom in America today,” Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., said of censorship and the cancel culture.

Earlier this month, the pro-family group MassResistance discovered that its credit-card processing had been shut down. Supporters who tried to donate online were told their credit card was “declined,” with no further explanation offered. “For nine harrowing days, we worked to deal with this,” said MassResistance chairman Brian Camenker. Additionally, Amazon now refuses to sell the MassResistance book, The Health Hazards of Homosexuality, after offering it for several years.

Morse noted: “This has been going on for some time, but the trend has accelerated since the Capitol Hill riot last month. Conservatives have been de-platformed and lost speaking venues and book deals. Simon & Schuster violated its contract to publish Sen. Josh Hawley’s book, ironically titled The Tyranny of Big Tech.” However, the book will be published in May by Regnery.

“No one is immune,” Morse observed. “Focus on the Family, one of the largest pro-family groups in the nation, had its Twitter account locked. Their offense? A tweet pointing out that Dr. Rachel Levine, President Biden’s nominee for Asst. Secretary of Health, is a man who says he’s a woman. According to Twitter, acknowledging this biological fact is ‘hateful.’ That means reality is ‘hateful.’”

Morse continued: “Even President Trump has had his Twitter account locked for more than a month. The Tech Oligarchs aren’t afraid of the President of the United States. That tells you something about who really holds power in this country.”

Morse disclosed, “In 2017, the Ruth Institute temporarily lost our ability to process donations because of our opposition to the Sexual State. Vanco Payments said we were ‘flagged’ as a group with a product or service ‘that promotes hate, violence, harassment and/or abuse.’ If countering family breakdown and helping victims of the sexual revolution makes us ‘hateful,’ so be it.”

Morse called the censorship movement “nothing less than an attempt to enforce groupthink and avoid a debate on many of the most important issues confronting our society.

“It works this way: If you oppose same-sex marriage, you’re ‘hateful.’ If you oppose the destruction of women’s sports in the name of ‘equality,’ you’re ‘hateful.’ If you affirm that a man who says he’s a woman is still a man, you’re ‘hateful.’ And if you oppose administering cross-sex hormones to adolescents -- you’re just too hateful for words.’’

On Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:00pm EST, Morse will have a Facebook Live Chat with Brian Camenker and a representative of Focus on the Family to discuss censorship.

During the week of March 7-13, the Ruth Institute will launch its Fighting Censorship and Propaganda Resource Center.

Planned Parenthood Despicable for Medicating “Transgender” Youth--Ruth Inst.

Planned Parenthood Despicable for Medicating “Transgender” Youth--Ruth Inst.

“Apparently there’s no longer enough money in the abortion racket. Now Planned Parenthood has found a new class of victims to exploit,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., Founder and President of the Ruth Institute.

Morse was reacting to an explosive interview with an anonymous Planned Parenthood employee, calling trans kids ‘cash cows.’ The PP staffer told Wall Street Journal that youth who identify as transgender were quickly prescribed cross-sex hormones with no examination of their underlying condition.

The staffer also said that many of those seeking such treatment “showed signs of emotional and mental health issues” and then “are kept on the hook for the foreseeable future in terms of follow-up appointments, blood work, meetings etc., whereas abortions are (hopefully) a one-and-done situation.”

Morse stated, “Our friends who do sidewalk counseling outside Planned Parenthood clinics told us about the increase of ‘trans-minded’ clients, so we weren’t surprised by these revelations. Planned Parenthood has simply found a new way to exploit youth.

“Young women who are often at their most vulnerable visit a clinic and are put on an operating table as quickly as possible,” Morse said. “There is no counseling. No alternatives are discussed. The names of underage women who were sexually exploited often aren’t reported to the police. It’s: Get on the table, put your feet in the stirrups, and you’re done. There isn’t even a discussion of the psychological effects of abortion, like post-abortion syndrome or the increased risk of breast cancer.”

With Planned Parenthood’s recent selling baby parts scandal, “How much more evidence is needed of the predatory nature of Planned Parenthood’s ‘business’?” Morse asked.

In Pushing the Trans Agenda, Biden will Make Obama Look Like Phyllis Schlafly

“In three actions in his first week in office, President Biden has demonstrated his blind adherence to ‘transgendered’ dogma,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Founder and President of the Ruth Institute.

Morse reported: “First, he appointed a man who says he’s a woman, Dr. Richard Levine, as Assistant Secretary of Health. This was widely heralded among progressives as a landmark appointment.”

In 2013, Dr. Levine, a father of two who was Pennsylvania’s Health Secretary, divorced his wife of 30 years, began wearing a dress and wig, and announced that he was now a “woman” named Rachel.

“If he called himself Daffy, that wouldn’t make him a duck,” Morse replied.

“Regardless of how he dresses or what he calls himself, Dr. Levine will remain what he was at birth, and what he will be for the rest of his life – a man.”

Morse added, “Democrats are forever demanding that we listen to ‘science’ on issues like global warming and COVID. Does science tell them that a man can become a woman with a change of name and wardrobe?”

The President also signed an executive order repealing President Trump’s order prohibiting “transgenders” from serving in the military and requiring the armed forces to pay for so-called gender reassignment surgery.

“And how exactly will this enhance military readiness?” Morse asked. “Does he honestly believe that members of our armed forces are just aching to go into combat with men in panty hose? Can our military, which needs everything from new weapon systems to better health care, really afford to pay to have body parts removed from healthy men and women?”

Finally, President Biden issued yet another executive order repealing one of Trump’s orders returning gender-sanity to schools.

“Once more, boys will be able to use girl’s bathrooms, showers and changing rooms -- considerations of modesty and safety notwithstanding,” Morse said.

“He also effectively ended women’s sports. Women now will be forced to compete against men who say they’re women. The latter will have an often insurmountable advantage due to greater muscle mass and other physical differences between the sexes,” Morse explained. “For years, proponents of the Sexual Revolution held themselves up as champions of women’s sports. Now, they’re demonstrating their commitment to women’s sports by destroying women’s sports.”

“In pushing the LGBTQ agenda without question or compromise, President Biden will make Barack Obama look like Phyllis Schlafly,” Morse predicted.

Ruth Inst. Applauds Diocese of Lansing, Slams State of Virginia, for Stands on Gender Ideology

Ruth Inst. Applauds Diocese of Lansing, Slams State of Virginia, for Stands on Gender Ideology

“The Ruth Institute congratulates the Catholic Diocese of Lansing, Michigan, for siding with nature and science against ideology,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., founder and president of the Ruth Institute.

On January 15, the Lansing diocese launched a policy on gender identity based on the Congregation for Catholic Education’s 2019 document, “Male and Female He Created Them.” The document rejects “any ‘gender theory’ that denies the difference and reciprocity in nature of a man and a woman.”

“Finally, an institution is willing to stand up to the gender ideology, which is sweeping government and our schools,” said Morse. “The diocese’s policy provides that students and parents be addressed with pronouns in accordance with their biological sex. Students will participate in sports and use bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms on the same basis.

“This is consistent with respect for the biological reality of male and female. The diocesan policy also reflects Catholic teaching that the differences between male and female are part of God’s design and gifts to be accepted and cherished,” Morse explained.

The diocesan policy recognizes that gender dysphoria “is a real psychological condition which causes real human suffering that has to be met with genuine compassion, rooted in truth and love, and accompanied by the highest standards of pastoral care.”

Morse noted that studies have shown that the vast majority of young people with gender dysphoria diagnoses who are supported in their biological sex, eventually become comfortable with their bodies.

“No one is ‘born in the wrong body.’ The diocesan policy is authentic compassion,” Morse said.

She contrasted the Lansing Diocese with the Virginia Department of Education, which claims that male and female are merely “labels” that are “typically assigned at birth.”

Virginia’s policies require that students be allowed to use the bathroom, etc. of their choice. Teachers and administrators are not allowed to question the action. Not using a student’s preferred pronoun is considered a form of harassment to be met with disciplinary action.

Morse charged, “For the Commonwealth of Virginia, modesty is irrelevant. Girls will not be allowed to object to the presence of boys in places where their bodies are exposed. Virginia’s policies encourage voyeurism and punish those who protest this gross invasion of privacy. Under Virginia’s policies, to refuse to endorse a student’s fantasy is an offense to be equated with racial or religious discrimination.”

There’s nothing compassionate about subscribing to an individual’s fantasy world and punishing those who refuse to endorse their delusions,” Morse said. “Men who say they are women are the legal equivalent of humans with women’s bodies. There is certainly nothing ‘pro-woman’ about saying that women’s bodies are irrelevant,” Morse declared. “The State of Virginia is erasing womanhood. Those of us who believe in eternal truth must oppose the folly of our times.”

New House Rules Erase Women, says Ruth Institute

New House Rules Erase Women, says Ruth Institute

“It’s ironic that Nancy Pelosi – the first female Speaker of the House – is erasing women in the name of ‘inclusiveness,’” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., speaking of the new House of Representatives diversity rules.

The rules, which were adopted by a straight party-line vote Monday, replace “father,” “mother,” “son,” “daughter,” “sister” and “brother,” with “parent,” “child” and “sibling.” “Himself” and “herself” are now “themself.” The phrase “He or she serves” morphs into “such member serves.”

Morse responded: “I’m not a spouse, parent or sibling. I’m a wife, mother and sister. It’s easy to shrug this off as the Speaker pandering to the radical wing of her party, after barely surviving a challenge to her leadership. It is also easy to ridicule this latest move. But the Sexual Revolutionaries are deadly serious. And they control an immense amount of power, money, and influence.”

Morse observed: “Mandating the removal of gender-specific words is the latest attempt by the Sexual State to grab power by creating an alternate reality. In the real world in which we live, there are men and women, nothing else. The Sexual Revolutionaries claim that all they want to do is to make men who think they’re women, and vice versa, feel better about themselves. In reality, powerful people like Nancy Pelosi are creating an unending stream of offenses, large and small, so they can turn on people whenever they want.

“Whatever happened to ‘follow the science?’” Morse continued. “As a matter of scientific fact, a man doesn’t become a woman by saying he ‘identifies’ as a woman, or by altering his body with surgery and drugs. Likewise, changing the rules of the House of Representatives to discard gender-specific terms will have absolutely no effect on human nature.

“Mrs. Pelosi’s official biography mentions her ‘husband’ and late ‘father.’ As the champion of language inclusion, shouldn’t she change that to ‘spouse’ and ‘parent’?” Morse inquired.

“I warned during the gay marriage debate that cutting marriage free from gender would lead to the end of gendered language and the end of gender itself,” Morse said. “The goal wasn’t really to improve the lives of the lesbian couple next door. The real end-game was, and is, to create a dream world in which the sex of the body is completely irrelevant to anything in law and society. No more mothers and fathers on birth certificates: only Parent A and Parent B. Now here we are, less than ten years out, with full-on female erasure.”

Last August, the Ruth Institute expressed similar concerns when CNN and the American Cancer Society urged cancer screening for “individuals with a cervix” instead of women.

“This isn’t equality. It’s a fantasy ideology. It’s misogynistic tyranny,” Morse said.

Ruth Inst: NBC News Lost All Credibility When It Defended PornHub

“NBC’s hypocrisy is sickening,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., president of the Ruth Institute. “While it smears the Institute and other pro-family organizations as ‘hate groups,’ it defends PornHub, a major distributor of pedophilia videos.”

Morse reported: “On December 9 and December 12, NBC published stories claiming to expose how ‘anti-gay hate groups,’ including the Ruth Institute, benefited from the Pay Check Protection Program. The network’s stories relied on information from the notoriously partisan, and frequently inaccurate, Southern Poverty Law Center.”

Then, on December 15, Olivia Solon, co-author of the December 9 story, did a piece tacitly defending PornHub. She said “sex workers” were suffering since credit card companies cracked down on Pornhub for allowing videos showing rape and the sexual abuse of children.

The move by Mastercard, Visa, and Discover was based on a New York Times article, which showed that the mega-porn site was one of the world’s leading purveyors of child pornography. A search on the site for “girls under 18’’ and “14 yo” each yielded more than 100,000 videos.

“While we work to prevent sexual abuse and to help victims heal, NBC is an apologist for one the world’s leading sites promoting abuse,” Morse charged. “This is what makes its smears of the Ruth Institute and other groups defending children and the family particularly ironic.”

That’s only the latest instance of NBC’s credibility problems. Ronan Farrow, former NBC investigative reporter, says the network ordered him to stop investigating convicted sexual predator Harvey Weinstein. Farrow believes that was because Weinstein had evidence against Matt Lauer, NBC’s Today Show anchor fired in 2017 for inappropriate sexual behavior.

“For NBC, the best line of defense seems to be a smear,” Morse said. "No one should take NBC seriously as a news organization. A propaganda producer, sure. But a credible news source? I don't think so."

Partnering with LifePetitions, the Ruth Institute has an online petition calling on NBC News to stop the smears. To date, it has collected more than 9,700 signers.

NBC Again Smears Ruth Inst. as a “Hate Group”

NBC Again Smears Ruth Inst. as a “Hate Group”

“NBC’s second broadside against the Ruth Institute is both predictable and pathetic,” said Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., the Institute’s founder and president.

Following its December 9 story, on December 12, NBC did another “exposé” of supposed hate groups that received funding under the Paycheck Protection Program, using information provided by the thoroughly partisan Southern Poverty Law Center.

“SPLC has become the attack dog of the Sexual Revolution,” said Morse. “Its victims include the American Family Association, Family Research Council, the American College of Pediatricians, and Liberty Counsel, as well as the Ruth Institute.

“SPLC’s formula is the essence of simplicity. If you oppose same-sex marriage, you’re a hate group. If you affirm that there’s no science behind what’s called transgenderism, you’re hateful.”

Morse added, “Like so many Sexual Revolutionary groups, NBC and SPLC have given in to the totalitarian impulse. Their tactics are meant to foreclose debate. If they pin the ‘hateful’ label on an organization, no one has to consider its arguments. Because neither entity can answer our arguments, they try to label us hateful and ignore us. It’s a sign of intellectual impotence.

“The Ruth Institute has fought many of the worst effects of the Sexual Revolution. More than any other organization, we have exposed clerical sex abuse. We also provide support for the victims of divorce, pornography, and other forms of sexual exploitation.

“Far from helping victims, NBC has been credibly accused by its former reporter, Ronan Farrow, of shutting down an investigation of charges of sex abuse against former studio head Harvey Weinstein.

“So, while the Ruth Institute was working to support victims of sex abuse, according to Farrow, NBC was protecting a sex offender.”

Morse noted ironically, “We’ve got to be one of the few ‘hate groups’ whose leadership and staff include Catholics, a Jew and an Orthodox priest, as well as Evangelicals, Pentecostals and Mormons. We have also collaborated with African pro-life groups, trying to help them protect their right to have as many children as they want. Odd behavior for a group that is allegedly the Second Coming of the Ku Klux Klan.”

Late last week, in association with Life Petitions, the Ruth Institute launched a petition demanding NBC issue a retraction of its December 9 story, stop using the Southern Poverty Law Center as a source, and “cease harassing and defaming organizations that are working to defend the family, the bedrock of American civilization.” The petition gathered more than 6,600 signatures in just a few days despite the busy holiday season.
