DAY THREE
Day three started with a burst of enthusiasm. Students had the entire evening to reflect on the illuminating lectures and even more, the Q and A period late in the prior evening, during which quite a bit of frank testimony was heard from both sides.
The morning's lecture session started with the presentation by Professor Robert Gagnon, defending the proposition of 'one
man/one woman' marriage from a Biblical perspective, as opposed to the
prior day's positioning pursuant
to the Law and/or Medicine.
Another wonderful lunch at the USD cafe and it was back to the class room for a presentation by Cassandra Hough of Princeton University concerning ways for the students to return to their own campuses and bring the message with them. In addition, they received recommendations and methods and for starting a chapter on their own campuses of the Ruth Youth clubs, or any organization that stands up for marriage.
A group picture was taken to commemorate the event.
Lastly, Dr Morse took the podium with a little testimony of her own as well as a frank discussion of her views on Marriage from the viewpoint of Natural Law. Dr Morse then gave a stirring, yet practical, no-nonsense argument in favor of "one man one woman for life."
And with that, it was over -- all too soon for most everyone.
"Thank you for helping to put this conference on! I'll remember those three days for a long time. Getting to associate with presenters and students from the wide variety of disciplines, religions, and locations will etch it into my memory. I hope that you do stay in touch."
Everyone associated with the conference was moved by the events of the weekend. We, at the Ruth
Institute, could not have been more blessed than we were with the group of intelligent, motivated
and committed young people that attended the conference. What we wanted was a group of
students
who were in a position to affect change, to have an impact on others and who, hopefully, will take
up the cause of defending marriage and help carry it forward. We got more than that: we had a group
of people who will not only further the cause, but ones who will go out and model the ideology
for others.
And of course, we can't say enough about our group of presenters; we were fortunate enough to prevail upon some of the top minds in their respective fields to take time from their busy schedules and contribute to the future of America, our future leaders.
But rest assured, this won't be the last conference on the subject of Tradtional Marriage sponsored
by the Ruth Institute.
If you are interested in attending the next conference, start now by lining up a sponsor for yourself. Or if you prefer, get your sponsor to contact us to arrange an application.
Additionally, you should know that no one will pay us to do this kind of work. The Ruth Institute
survives on the charitable donations of our generous supporters. If you would like to make a contribution

work we are doing to save and nurture marriage in our time, please click the button to the right.
And remember, no gift is too large or too small!
And thanks! See you next year!
