Where are all the Young?

Have you noticed it? The battle over Prop 8 is still active. Those for Same Sex Marriage have brought it to the Supreme Courts attention in California. The court has 90 days to rule: either to uphold the 7Million Californian's who voted for traditional marriage or overturn it.

Have you watched the debate in the past months? This picture conveys the demographics of the debate, I think. Where are all the young people for traditional marriage?

If you are young and were involved in Proposition 8, give us your opinion of what the youth thought during the debate.

NY governor forcing recognition of same-sex 'marriages'

Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow

New York Governor David Paterson is commanding state agencies to recognize same-gender "marriages" and civil unions that are legal in other states and countries and to revise policies and regulations to accommodate it. CNN.com reports Paterson sent state agencies a memo on Wednesday alleging that the failure to recognize homosexual marriages violates the state's human rights law. Frank Russo of the American Family Association of New York tells OneNewsNow the governor's decision is disappointing.

CA Governor encourages Supreme Ct to overturn Prop 8

We all know that Governor Schwarzenegger has opposed Proposition 8, even though he vetoed a bill in 2005 pertaining to same sex marriages "out of respect for the will of the people". And also in 2005, Governor Schwarzenegger stated his position on legislative meddling with Proposition 22: "We cannot have a system where the people vote and the Legislature derails that vote."

YET now Governor Schwarzenegger is encouraging the California Supreme Court to overturn proposition 8, just like they did with proposition 22.

Please call and fax a letter to the Governor reminding him that he was elected to represent the will of the people and the people have spoken TWICE, with proposition 22 and now proposition 8, in voting for marriage as only between a man and a woman.

Please do not be silent on this issue, as silence = acceptance

Please forward this email to your friends and family throughout the state.

Please hold your elected officials accountable.

"Brad Pitt and the Meaning of Marriage"

Here is a great article! In this article, Christopher West lays out the argument agaisnt those who think Prop 8 is about discrimination. He used the example of Brad Pitt who gave $100,000 to NO on PROP 8 campaign.

PITT: "Because no on has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8.

She's at It Again!

Check out Dr. J's most recent spotlight by the Associated Press found in the San Diego Tribune

To QUOTE the article: "Jennifer Roback Morse, president of the Ruth Institute, which promotes traditional mariage, said same-sex unions violate the "child-centered institution of marriage."

Also, a long-time advocate of marriage and Dr. J's material, Harold Pike, is also quoted in this article saying: " We've already seen the impact of fatherless households; I don't see why we would remove a mother or father from the get-go from a household"
