Ryan C. MacPherson, Ph.D. serves as chair of the History Department at Bethany
Lutheran College and senior editor for The Family in America: A Journal of Public
Policy. He also is the founding president of the Hausvater Project, a nonprofit
organization promoting a biblical vision for family, church, and society. His recent
scholarship includes the textbook Rediscovering the American Republic, a bioethics
primer entitled The Culture of Life, and a friend of the court brief for the California
marriage amendment case. In addition to scholarly works, he also writes popular
articles for a variety of family-oriented publications. He speaks regularly for
both academic and lay audiences concerning marriage, chastity, public policy, constitutional
law, and education. Above all, Dr. MacPherson seeks to lead by example as a devoted
husband and homeschool father.
